Hello, I have the Hunt 42 Limitless Gravel Adventure wheelset and find that the bearings on this adventure version drag a bit (probably because of extra seals).

What are some faster rolling bearings (not worried about contamination) that folks can recommend for me to upgrade this wheelset with? I'd probably go for steel over ceramic with reasonable level of sealing - not running these wheels through mud but they are going on dusty hardpack roads.

Thanks!

Some hubs like DT Swiss hubs have high drag when the wheels are off the bike. Once mounted the thru axle compresses the hub axle and offsets the intended bearing preload. So a finger spin on the end caps is not a true test of the bearing drag. All of my DT Swiss hubs feel tight when off the bike. This is perfectly normal.

C-bear makes good bearings. I upgraded my Zipp 303S bearings to C-bear and the difference can be felt. I cannot comment the durability of the bearings yet.

How about NTN from Hambini or his Ultra Low Friction Seal bearings?
