2023 Enve Mog

The Enve website states that the tyre clearance is limited to 47mm when using a GRX front derailleur. Anybody knows if that same limitation still applies to the newly released GRX Di2 12speed front derailleur?

Finally got my MOG back from the painter and built up. Painter shaved the luggage mounts off the front fork for me as well!

Quick question for you - were those the cranks that came with the Transmission groupset? If so, were you able to fit the 42T chainring without issues wrt clearance or otherwise? thanks!

The questions wasn't for me but I'm running a 46T ring on a road wide crankset which is narrow q factor than xxsl crank even the narrow version, running any t-type or road wide you should have no problems running a 42t ring

Yes, they are standard MTB DUB width, which is about the same or 1-2mm wider than a set of road DUB WIDE cranks. So tons of room to play around with chainline and tire clearance. I currently have a set of 45c TUFO Gravel Thundero tires on it and there is still tons of clearance with the 42T ring. Im confident i could fit a 50T if i wanted to!

Perfect. That's exactly what I will be doing - moving between 42 - 50T depending on terrain. Much appreciated. Love to hear how you find the new Red shifters on gravel.

New shifters are great, the bonus buttons are nice as they align my controls for my headunit with my shimano road groups. One observation though, the tops of the hoods are so small its hard to get a grip on them in a very agressive aero position where i typically rest my wrists on the flats and just hook my ring and pinky finger over the top of the hoods. Going to need to play around with the hood position to find a spot where i have grip and dont get jarred off on rough roads. The braking power lives up to the hype as well, crazy good leverage!

I have around 2k miles on my MOG so far, easily my favorite bike I own. I've done everything on it from fast 22 mph average gravel races to slapping on some deep wheels with road tires to running it as a drop bar mtb with 2.2 conti race kings. It definatly scews more towards that single track to fast gravel type of bike, I found it a little sluggish when I was rocking it on some fast group rides. I came from a Crux and set this up with GRX Di2, I go back and forth between 2x and 1x depending on what I am doing. I'm about 5 foot 9 and run a 54 slammed with a 90mm stem and the 39 hoods/44 drops enve ses aero handlebars.

I'm between a 52/54 and wondering how you like the fit on this

I have a 31 in inseam. Size wise I think I made the right call with the 54. I was debating a 52 because I like aggressive fits, but toe overlap would have been an issue with that size. Only thing I would change is probably going to a 100 stem and narrower bars. I've been running narrower bars on my road bike and now I feel like I am riding a mtb when I initially jump on the Mog.

My MOG is 54cm. 110x40 on the bars and 5mm of spacer stack. My saddle height is about 72.5. I have a good amount of exposed seatpost. I feel like the sweetspot for the 54 is in the 70.5-73cm saddle height.

Anyone running race kings 2.2 or thunder burt 2.1 or 2.25?

I've ran both the 2.2 race kings and 2.1 thunderburts. Racekings fit, but they are really only useable if it is extremely dry. 2.1 Thunderburts are a much better fit, they are about 3.5mm narrower and not as tall to cause issues with the top of the fork/seat tube. I really cannot tell a difference between these tires from a feel prospective, but I have already punctured the rear thunderburt. It sealed itself and I didn't notice until I got home, but I am going to keep using the thunderburts to see if it was a fluke deal before I start racing on them. Somehow Dylan Johnson's 2.2 racekings measure narrower than my thunderburts on his 21 internal wheels so I may have to find some narrow internal wheels to try in the future if my thunderburts keep puncturing.

I use thunrder burt 2.35 on my XC mtb as a rear tire and I've also seen the bicycle station youtube guys using in in some gravel builds and thought it could be a good idea to try the 2.1s on my MOG.

My MOG is 54cm. 110x40 on the bars and 5mm of spacer stack. My saddle height is about 72.5. I have a good amount of exposed seatpost. I feel like the sweetspot for the 54 is in the 70.5-73cm saddle height.

So I could have gone either 54 or 56 but went 56 (same as my Melee) with a 90 stem because I prefer the handling of the shorter stem. I am 74 on the seatpost and stripped the 42 bars of my Melee (replaced with 40 one piece Enve).

I went with a 46x10-52, if I wanted to build right now this is the route I’d go again, since I wanted to get some single track time here and there and the mtb clutch is stronger.

I’d struggle to get the xplr now knowing the new udh direct mount is around the corner coming soon, given that they are not worried about hidding anymore, with a 10-46, and udh I’d have to think hard about how much the bigger jumps matter to me, but definitely would make the decision harder!

I have a Mog frameset on the way and am planning a 2x build as many of the rides I do have both road and gravel sections. I have all the bits for an AXS build but the cranks are standard road, not "wide." The Enve spec sheet seems to indcate that normal road 2x groups aren't compatible and "wide" is the only AXS option (or GRX builds) but several folks have mentioned Ultegra Di2 builds. So.....will the Red AXS 46/33 crankset that's sitting in my garage gathering dust work or do I need to purchase AXS wide crank arms/crankset?

Did anyone weigh the MOG frameset including fork and hardware (axle, mounts etc)?
With or without bars, stem & seatpost would be fine, I can find out those weights
