Got a good deal on a 52cm Sand, so I'll be looking forward to building it up! Already have Roval wheels, saddle, pedals, so looking at Enve's own stem and bar, some seatpost, looking for wtf not go with Red Xplr. Anything to be aware of, look out for, hot tips? I will not be doing the wrenching, to reduce everyone's frustration.

Has anybody succeeded in not using their proprietary internal routing design / stem? I would assume I need a different headset cover?

Weighed the frame (size 52): 1120g. This is with all the bolts (there are a lot) and UDH and seat clamp. I did remember to take out the gear bag that was in the down tube. I mean I reweighed it to get the 1120g figure after I remembered to take out the gear bag.

Now that is one solid frame! I was torn between the Mog and the Stigmata and thought the Mog would be so much lighter. Finally went with the Stigmata for the slacker head angle. The frame in S weighted also 1120 but without the seat collar and the glove box cover. Turns out, not that much weight difference.

BB question.

I got the Chris King ThreadFit T47 30i bottom bracket.

Will it also take a DUB wide or a XX1 DUB crankset?

If so, is that the correct fit kit?

I had not thought about weighing it without the storage cover. Since it's got bolts in it, I bet that's a chunk of centigrams.

Enve says in their FAQs that that should be right, but I'd contact Enve support with the details to ask about spacers and cranks.

What do you think about the supplied ENVE seat post? Comfortable?

I rented a Mog while I was on holiday in Girona. It is a great bike; actually has me considering switching from my trusty Crux. But speaking of the post, it was the worst part of the bike for me. It doesn't seem to have the flex of some other posts on the market (the Roval Terra on my Crux has a lot more of it) so the rear end felt harsh especially on big bumps (usually I just stay seated; learned to lift my butt on the Mog pretty quickly), and of course the two-bolt head on those newer Enve seatposts is a total pain-in-the-ass for fine adjustments, in my opinion.

I rented a Mog from The Service Course, and this is how they had it built up - there were two holes in the headset cap (or maybe the first spacer?) where the hydraulic brakes hoses ran in.

I wouldn't build it like this to be honest; those openings where the brake hoses go into the headset were quite large and they would be an easy way for all kinds of water and contamination to get into the upper headset bearing.

Yeah there is a spacer for externally routed handlebars, this will make it a lot easier to change a stem length. On a rental this makes a lot of sense

What happens with the water once it went in through those holes? Is there a "drainage port" on the down side of the bottom bracket?

I am changing from an OPEN UPPER, that somehow filled with ridiculous amounts of water when riding in the rain.

Again on the topic of seat posts. I would love to carry over my Canyon Leaf Spring seat. As far as I know, only available in 345mm. Due to the short seat tube, I would be right on the limit of "minimal insertion" line. Do you see any concerns with that?

That exit spacer should have been at the top, not bottom of the stack. Keeps the hoses tight against the bottom of the stem, and less prone to ingress.
