The URS comes with a shim, originally intended to use with a dropper post, but you could use it to fit a regular 27.2 post. But I would weight the D-shaped post before to see if there is any gain to be made. Shaving 2kgs off the URS is a difficult task, neither frame nor fork are lightweight and if you would bolt Darimo or Extralight stuff to the URS, you would negate the brawler gravel bike qualities the URS has.

Nice to read it, for me it’s a good new.
Will check the shim in the next days.
Mine is a 2020 version.
Seat post and saddle are a 505 g combo...

Wheels are DT Swiss C1850 with WTB 40 mm tyres with tubes and Sram center lock 180-160 rotors.
Groupset is a Sram Apex 1x11.
Stem is 70 mm from BMC and handlebar is from Easton, in aluminum both.

I am guessing 2 kgs are a reasonable goal :
- 200 g for the saddle
- 600 g for the wheelset
- 100 g for the rotors
- 50 g for the stem
- 100 g for the bar
- 200 g for the crank
- 100 g for the tubes
- 100 g for the tyres
- 150 g for the cassette
- 50 g for titanium spindles for pedals
- xxx for the groupset

Guessing to shave more grams with details like spider and cap of the headset and to have some better scale results as the stock parts are still to be weighted.

I think a gravel bike weight cannot be like a full suspension bike weight. I do not think to modify the soul of the URS with weight shaving, but giving it the right respect.

I had changed the following:

Bars to Easton Carbon
Sram Force Crankset with AB direct mount Chain Ring
Sram 1195 Cassette
S-Works Power Saddle
Carl'z Wheels with Farsports rims and DT350
Tubeless

That had brought down the weight considderably. Still I find the URS by design is no a racy bike, its qualities are on the other end of the gravel spectrum. I now have a Cannondale SuperX which feels a lot faster with similar setup. But, maybe in really I ride it a the same speed...

You need an adapter: BMC part #302086 (https://bmc-switzerland.s3.amazonaws.co ... t+list.pdf)

Hope that one keeps your butt save. I personally would be caucious of a no-name chinese ultra-lightweight seatpost.

Uh in 2015 I did 16.000 km on a Chinese road frame with a Chinese seat post and Chinese tubular rims

Your thinking is entering from one ear exiting to opposite
