New GRX this year?
Moderator: Moderator Team
I agree they need to move GRX to 12s ASAP. But it will also be the second generation of GRX, like going from 9100 Dura Ace to 9200 Dura Ace. It will get an updated appearance. 12s GRX involves different deraileurs and chainlines to either their MTB or road offerings, whereas 105 12s is effectively Ultegra 12s using lower cost materials. Same application, same geometries, same family resemblance/design language, less engineering.

Dario building gravel frames now? LOL!!!velocipedeimp wrote:I just got word Shimano is doing a special edition GRX 'Silver' kit for some builders. It'll be a 1x or 2x 800 series group. I do not have pictures yet. But this will be for smaller builders like Pegoretti and some others. I have 3 on order when it's available. I've heard is going to be limited to a few hundred groups total.

That looks fantastic although it's a shame that the inner chainring is still black and not silver.Karvalo wrote: ↑Wed Jun 01, 2022 7:28 amhttps://www.instagram.com/p/CeOn4b_FxGR ... _copy_linkvelocipedeimp wrote: ↑Sun May 29, 2022 12:57 amI just got word Shimano is doing a special edition GRX 'Silver' kit for some builders. Obviously Dario isn't, but Pegoretti is offering a disc brake bike now. So this could be used on that. Which is what I was talking about.

I know. I knew him and still see his brother Gianni occasionally. I was the first person to “stock” Pegoretti frames in London 20 years ago.Karvalo wrote:Dario passed away 4 years ago. I’ve been riding Pegoretti continuously for all that time, albeit they’re now Pegoretti Evoluzione aka De Anima!
That said, I doubt Pegoretti will be building anything with this GRX group anytime soon. They are still much more aligned with Campag.

From what I’ve been told from certain manufacturers, it’s gonna be end of 2023 or early 2024.
Will be 12 speed, wireless and will use microspline cassette.

From what I was told by Shimano, Microspline may only be for 1x systems that use 12 speed MTB cassettes. The 2x systems will most likely use road cassettes from 7100 & 8100 so will fit HG splined bodies.Skittlez212 wrote:From what I’ve been told from certain manufacturers, it’s gonna be end of 2023 or early 2024.
