Just finished my first true gravel build after selling my CX bike last year and missing the fun had on it.

Spec is pretty much maxed out, DA R9170 Di2 / XTR, MCFK everything, Quarq, Berk saddle, Rene Herse 44c tyres.

Looking forward to getting out on it and seeing how shes goes... Trip to Wales booked in 4 weeks time

Nice work, that's a ridiculous weight for a fully functional gravel bike. What are the mystery wheels, they look like the goods?

Very cool weenie gravel build.. Have a backup up/upper frame on the wall just in case? What's the gear ratio here?

Beautiful !!
Interested in Rene Herse tyres as well.. looking for you feedback
Did you think of going with a RH ‘knobbier’ tyres instead the slick ones? Was it a decision based on groadie use/‘Gucci’ gravel?

I like the gum walls, especially with a predominantly black bike.

@ryanw you will have to let me know how you get on with the Steilacoom's, I've been tempted by them as a wet weather gravel tyre

I saw on Instagram you had some ultra dynamicos..
Once I have to replace the turbo cottons I’ll try RH EL in 26c

The sidewalls on those ultradynamicos are newspaper thin and about as strong so make sure to carry a good flat recovery kit.

Nice Build and tire stash! I have an Open Up that I just installed the Barlow Pass EL's on and I really like them. I would like to try the Snoqualmie Pass and Hurricane Ridge tires but the spec on the Open frame says 40mm max @ 700c so I did not want to buy them without knowing they would fit first. Do the Snoqualmie Pass tires work fine with enough clearance? Have you tried the Hurricane Ridge?

Awesome bike! I am currently building an open up in gray (like the one on your wall, but they seemed to have changed the color scheme around the lower headset to just orange instead of multi-color - oddly surprised when I got it).

The shop had a demo bike that I put my Enve G23s with Rene Herse Hurricane Ridge 42s in the back to test clearance. The wheel spun, but there was very little clearance between the tire and the seat tube. I did not get a chance to measure, but it did not look safe. I think that Open calls for at least 6 mm between the tire and frame. How is the clearance with the RH Snoqualmie Pass tires? It looks pretty tight! They appear to be the Extralight version. Did you have any trouble getting them to set up tubeless? I hear that the extralight version weeps sealant. I have standard and endurance casing. They have been great; especially the endurnce casing. I will probably run the RH Barlow Pass on my Open. I still need to decide on a wheelset for this bike.

Last question - what bottom bracket are you running? I am building the bike with 2x GRX, so I ran a Wheels Manufacturing 386EVO Angular Contact BB for 24mm (Shimano) Cranks - Black. I also switched out the Cane Creek headset for a Chris King.

Thanks!

Of course the bike is nice and all, but the shop space really blows my mind, woah!
• A hi-zoot bike, pretty sweet
• An old bike, more fun than the new one actually
• Unicycle, no brand name visible
