Front rack on aero thru axle fork?

It has a hollow thru axle. Can I put a quick release through the axle and mount it on the quick release?

Thought about this myself. Last year I was looking at Tailfin racks and their mounting system over complicated for my liking.
As a result I ended up designing concept image attached. Basically a nylon insert (shown in blue) in the other end of the through axle.
