Lightweight carbon road handlebars for gravel
Moderator: Moderator Team
I'm going to put 3T superleggera team handlebars on my gravel bike I think.
What do you guys think? I'm not necessarily scared of carbon bars as I have them on my road and MTB but these are light bars and the gravel bike has no suspension. Anyone had trouble or is it just hand wringing?

I have a set of 42cm Easton EC90 SLX bars on my road bike that weighed in at just under 200g. For my Gravel bike I went Cheaper and wider (44cm) with the EC70 SL.....but they only weighed 210g, I'm betting it's the same bar with a different label.

UNO stem is fine if you're not a fatty or sprinting at 1300 watts. I'd be more afraid of ANYTHING made by Darimo.
I have an enve stem...
Also check this deal out: I needed some random stuff and saw these while shopping so I bought them. I've been waiting for a good deal on traditional bend bars.

Hey, I know they're fine, but some like to stick their noses up in the air and diss anything that isn't BoutiqueOnTheRivet wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 1:49 amUNO stem is fine if you're not a fatty or sprinting at 1300 watts. I'd be more afraid of ANYTHING made by Darimo.

Running 42cm Thomson carbon road bars on the gravel bike, I'm 84kg and ride/race hard, no issues.

I am also using Easton EC70SL in 42 on my gravel bike. Swapped them from a road bike because I wanted something narrower and thought I should still get them some use. I find the width ideal for the kind of gravel I do and have had no issues. I assume they're more likely to die a sudden death in the case of a crash than aluminum bars but they're now old enough to accept that risk
Canyon Aeroad, Votec VRC, Fuji Jari Carbon, Sensa Fermo SL, Principia R700, Cannondale Bad Boy Ultra, Ciöcc Singlespeed
Very rarely if ever heard of Darimo failures in recent years ... both are fine. I'd be far more worried about the big brands.OnTheRivet wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 1:49 amUNO stem is fine if you're not a fatty or sprinting at 1300 watts. I'd be more afraid of ANYTHING made by Darimo.

On the handlebar topic can I derail it slightly. I'm looking for some gravel bars with 7degree flair or less and some outsweep.
Ideally something 38cm at the tops and 42cm in the drops or 40cm/44cm
