New Exploro RaceMax

Well good news is if it doesn’t work I can order a different set of clamps for like $15.
Just got my post today, it's a M/350mm and weighs 96.3g I didn't think it would get here so soon so I'm still waiting on the ritchey clamp. I mainly ride a Fizik Ares saddle and that's standard 7x7 but I've also got a Prologo Dimension Nack I want to try and just ordered a Selle Italia Novus Boost Evo Kit Carbonio Superflow (that's a mouth full of a name) so I ordered both 7x7 and 7x9.6. I emailed Selle Italia and they said their carbon railed saddles use the 7x9.6MattMay wrote: ↑Tue Jan 19, 2021 6:31 pmHey AZR3, I heard from Scott at 3T. Didn’t realize the Ritchey clampset is purchased separately from the seatpost, and the rail sizes are kinda wonky: 7x7, 7x9.6, and 8x8.5. My rails are 9mm. So not sure it’s going to work. What size are your rails amd what did you order?
Hopefully everything will be in by Friday and I can test it out. Curious to see how much weight it drops from the diff lock post

Finally got the ritchey clamp for the new seat post and weighed everything.
The new post- 96.3g for a M/350mm
Ritchey clamp- 54.5g
Total - 150.8g
Old post from my size large Exploro, which is longer than the new post, weighed all in at 255.1g
So saved 104.3g with the new post
Wondering if a Ti bolt would be an option to drop a few more grams. The steel bolt is 13.3g

Good to hear! And yes, a Ti bolt for the clamp will save ~8g. I have one on my Wilier.

So does anyone have a RaceMax in a 54 and run a frame bag? I’m trying to decide if it has more room in the main triangle to fit a frame bag than my Topstone Carbon.
Also wondering, what weight people have built a 54 too with SRAM Red AXS and how big of a 700c tire it will fit with Red AXS. I’d like to run Rene Herse Hurricane Ridge 42mm tires on 25mm internal rims.
Thanks for any help!

This bike is a 54. Looks like plenty of room but you might have to use a short bottle on the down tube.Relientk1202 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 6:41 pmSo does anyone have a RaceMax in a 54 and run a frame bag? I plan to use a Pro Discover 2.7L frame bag in my 54cm frame... waiting for it to be built up.
I'm not sure the Rene Herse Hurricane Ridge 700x42 on 25mm ID rims will fit, the above image is @sbish bike with Rene Herse Steliacoom (700x38) on 25id wheels, and there doesn't look to be enough clearance to go 4mm bigger.

That’s exactly the worry I had. I wonder if a wider rim would give enough to make a difference?

From https://blog.3t.bike/2020/06/14555/what ... bike-tech/ going from a 25id wheel to a 29id wheel decreased the tyre radius between 0-4mm, depending on the brand. 40mm nominal tyres are the recommended limit. If you already have the hurricane ridge, try fitting them up. If you don't own them yet, maybe go with the Steliacoom.Relientk1202 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 26, 2021 11:09 pmThat’s exactly the worry I had. I own the Steliacooms and have them on my Topstone Carbon. I was hoping to go a little larger on this bike.emotive wrote:From https://blog.3t.bike/2020/06/14555/what ... bike-tech/ going from a 25id wheel to a 29id wheel decreased the tyre radius between 0-4mm, depending on the brand. 40mm nominal tyres are the recommended limit. Curious where you sourced your Ti bolt for the clamp. M6 x 60mm right?JMeinholdt wrote:Good to hear! And yes, a Ti bolt for the clamp will save ~8g. I have one on my Wilier.

As stated, M6x55 is the right size. I bought mine as a single through eBay because I had a few reward bucks expiring.
