According to the pictures and the video above, no need to change from the current crux.

I expected a more aero frameset with integrated hoses like the Tarmac SL7, but I think the current crux is still better than the new one.

Aspero wont handle as well and the bb is a touch low for cross. And its a Dorel bike with their questionable build quality and support (my 2c no offense intended).

Im not a spesh fanboy but theyre very good with layups and engineering feel as of late.


That said, as a pure gravel racer assuming no quality issues, the aspero 5 is a compelling racebike.

Notable visible features:
Seat stays meet the top tube, not dropped like the Diverge.
Top tube looks oversized and tapers towards seattube like the Aethos
Top tube appears to slope down more than current Crux
Downtube tapers from oversized round shape near headtube to smaller ovalized box shape at bottom bracket (like Aethos)
Cable port cover is visible on the topside of the downtube. Seems it will accomodate both mechanical and electonic groups (like Aethos Pro).
Non-integrated cables
Traditional seattube with standard collar clamp (prior Crux has seattube flush with toptube and integrated internal clamp)
Chainstays are straight, not dropped (for this, I don't expect tire clearance to change much)

Coupled with a presumed threaded BB these are really nice design choices.
Just a shame about the price, but there seem to be huge increases across the board.
I was going to say that cross is a niche market and that could explain the high price (like most high-end track frames, for example). But I guess they are expanding in to racy gravel territory and that should keep the sales numbers up.

Except the stack is low for a road rae bike. Show me an Aspero that doesn't have 2cm of spacer inder the stem and I'll bet it doesn't get ridden (hard) off road.

Given the $5K pricing, I'm most likely headed for a Pursuit All Road (cheaper! Custom-layup and paint choice included! T47!) unless Factor releases the new version LS w threaded bb first.

The spec says Praxis Zayante, BB30. I will get the bike fist next week. Anyone know which Zayante crankset this is.

Zayante Carbon-S or the lighter Zayante Carbon? Or some other older version?

If it is the heavier one, is the best buy then a Zayante Carbon to save som weight? Since I guess the BB is the same then it would be a easy switch.
Or go for some other crankset?

Go with SRAM carbon cranks like Force or Red. No need to hassle with Praxis. However, proper wheels will impact your ride more than different crankset

Have to agree, not much of an upgrade. If I could find a current model in stock I'd probably snatch it up. Will be a bargain in a few months with the presumed price increases. No big improvements that justify the price jump in my opinion.

I have a 30mm Force x1 crankset I can use from another bike. But is this frame PF30?

Would be nice not to hustle with changing BB on a new bike. From what I understand the Praxis is 30/28mm.

I removed my Praxis BB with a slip joint plier and a rag (special tools needed...) And then just put in some cheap bb30 bearing and a rival crankset with p2m. It was a 2019 but it's the same bike.

When you say BB30, is it the old standard with two stand alone bearings and lockrings on each side?

I did the same thing, and I'm glad I ditched the crank. I put the setup on my townie/baby trailer puller bike and its...not good. The praxis 1x ring is really noisy and the BB started creaking after 1 ride. Plus the Praxis BB is a boat anchor compared to a set of generic bearings off of amazon.
