On another note, i am in the process of replacing the Headset bearings on my crux. Currently, i am despertaley trying to find a WOLFTOOTH S.H.I.S. IS42/28,6 with the 7mm top cap in Europe. Most online Shops only Stock the Version including3mm "Specialized top cap". However they are selling the correct top cap with the IS41/28,6. Deep down on this Thread, there was a discussion about the IS42 vs 41.
What's the consenus on that?

I had some problems with the stock headset.
I just bought and installed a IS42 cane creek from r2bike and it seems to work fine by now. We will see how it goes with the time.

Getting a 2024 crux and I am really exicted for the bike.

However, I am really struggling which choosing gearing. Based on others posts, I feel that I can do a shimano 9100 50x34 on my aldhu carbon crankset, with a spacer on the drivetrain. The benefit of this is the larger gear choices, and smaller jumps.

I'm likely running 40 mm tires or smaller, so FD tire clearance isn't an issue.

My other thought would be to run a 48t front chainring on a sram red crankset and pairing it to an eagle 10-50 cassette. I was looking at the crankset that is wide. Would I be able to use my chris king BB and add the appropriate spacers on the drive side to makr this combo work?

The benefit of this would be simplicty and larger tire clearnace if I needed it.

I’m not really asking a Crux-related question, but I’m curious anyway since I can’t seem to find a definitive answer. I’m on the lookout for new Zipp SL 70 Carbon Handlebars - https://www.sram.com/en/zipp/road/series/sl-70-xplr

The only thing that’s bugging me is the description: “Designed for integration with SRAM RED XPLR AXS”. They’re talking about the new group; 13 speed UDH with new shifters.

So, my question is, will these handlebars work without any issues with Force/Rival shifters? Has anyone tried that?

So I'm considering buying a Crux and am looking for advice.

My thoughts mainly consider the importance of the 2025 UDH update. Basically I have three options:
- buy a second hand sworks 2022 frame (~3000€) and build it to spec.
- buy a 2024 (non UDH) stock sworks build nicely discounted (~9000€)
- buy a 2025 (10R) frame with UDH hanger and equip it with the 13 speed sram group (frame 3150 / groupset ~3500)

The deal on the 2024 sworks is quite good but I do feel like I'm missing out quite a bit in the update with UDH in regards to future proofing and resell value.

Any considerations?

i would ask yourself if you're truly going to own this frame long enough to worry about "future proofing" it. do you really forsee yourself buying another drivetrain several years down the road?

i feel like we're going to see diminishing returns in the future on drivetrain innovation, its just going to be more and more money for smaller and smaller gains.

Regardless if you want to keep it or not, it's better to have UDH bike, because owner will look for UDH only bike.

2025 10R frameset is available for 2.2k€ at hibike at the moment.

Anyone has an idea whether it would be possible to put Campagnolo SR EPS on crux, would it work? Or is chainstay too long? Some other considerations against it? @graeme_f_k?
