Looking sharp. The new futureshock is a big upgrade in the aesthetics department from the old version.ill principe wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 7:19 pm

Thanks! Pretty clear after the first run (on the kickr) that I will have to look for a -17 stem.

Hmm, inte this case it's a alu frame and the Tarmac is only available in carbon.Nikoras wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 5:07 amFrame with the SWAT downtube adds weight as that's pretty massive. Guessing the futureshock components add up quite a bit as well.Angui wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2020 9:48 pmNewbie question: why is the Diverge so much heavier than the Tarmac?ElliottDavo wrote: ↑Wed Sep 30, 2020 9:21 pmWeighed my 56 base e5 in sage green, got 1650 for the frame and 515 for the forks. This includes the seat post collar and bottle cage bolts but no headset, thru axles or the like
So, around 2.15 for the entire frameset
My Diverge Expert frame in size 52 is 1231g including swatdoor and all frame parts. Fork is 420g and Futureshock is around 300g.
My Diverge E5 2018 frame (grey) (last generation was 1400g for 52cm frame and 489g for the fork cut to be slammed.

I received my 2021 Diverge Comp Carbon this week. Lead time has been reaaaally long, my German dealer ordered it before launch in March 2020 (!!)
I resisted the Gravel hype until now, but after the first few rides I am a convert
I love MTBing, I love road biking, and this allows me to combine the two. Really digging the versatility, e.g. to leave the tarmac at speed and bunnyhop right into a singletrail
Swapped out the GRX crank for a Power2Max NG power meter with Rotor Aldhu cranks.
Also switched the heavy-ass stock 700c wheels (DT Swiss G540) to DT Swiss GRC 1400 carbon wheels, downsized to 650b. Riding a smaller 52cm frame I think the 650b wheels fit the bike well. It feels more agile / nimble compared to stock, more playful on the trail and more willing to lean into corners. (The discussion of 27.5" vs. 29" has been beaten to death, no need to repeat any of that here).
As tires I chose Panaracer Gravelking Semislick in 48mm width (48-584), tubeless.
The wider tires combined with lower tire pressures (~16 PSI) feel great and give confidence on rough sections in comparison to the rather skinny Pathfinder Pro 38-622.
The Gravelkings are fast on tarmac, grippy in dry conditions and on the trail, gravel, hardpack. But very little to no grip in wet / muddy conditions. Rear wheel was spinning when climbing 10% grade wet muddy section. Cannot have it all.
However, the 650b wheels lower the already-kinda-low bike by an additional 10mm, so gotta be careful with striking pedals or chainrings when navigating root sections on the trails or when pedaling while ripping bends.
Am also going to switch out the Power Comp saddle, my ass likes the Romin Evo more and since I am also running it on my Tarmac it makes switching between bikes more seamless.
Putting multitool, tire levers, CO2 etc. into the SWAT compartment is nice to keep center of gravity low and the saddle free of bags.
As pictured below it weighs 9.64kg, the Romin Evo shaves another ~110g off.
Not the lightest, but very capable for my intended use. The Diverge is a great fun bike which puts smiles on my face
Love getting off the Tarmac (both as a surface and as my roadbike) and explore new routes.

Welcome to the Diverge/Rotor crank club!
Only had mine for a few months, but can already tell I’m going to have a lot of fun on this bike.
Those are some big tires-I assume clearance is fine-I have never had 650b wheels-does that help, since I think the Diverge spec is 47mm?

Thanks. Specialized states max tire width is 47mm on 700c rims and 53mm (=2.1") on 650b rims.cycleboyco wrote: ↑Sun Feb 21, 2021 11:53 pmWelcome to the Diverge/Rotor crank club!

So yes, the smaller rims allow wider tires.
Optically, the clearance is larger and if you are courageous you could run even wider. With the risk of mud/ grit grinding on the inside of the fork.
Also enough clearance to mount fenders with the 48-584.

Nice looking bike. Planning on getting the same size, but I am a bit worried about the weight. What is the weight with the changes?ill principe wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 7:19 pm

Can get back in ~10 days with weight, it currently sits on the trainer w. heavy inner tubes and SPD-SL pedals.
Will run it tubeless and with XT 8100 pedals. Have changed the stem for a -17 Zipp Service Course SL.

Perfectly fine Can you tell me your size and inseam? Problem is, that the Diverge is sold out in every local shop. Only way is to order an I am unsure about the size (torn between 58 and 61).ill principe wrote: ↑Tue Mar 09, 2021 7:41 pmCan get back in ~10 days with weight, it currently sits on the trainer w. heavy inner tubes and SPD-SL pedals.

My current setup. Much prefer the Continental Speed Kings compared to Panaracer Gravelkings SemiSlick.
