Saw about it last week but not so much info like this. Seems like a mtb for gravel with such a long reach and short stem. high bb and long chainstays too. Not too impressed.

How does making a bike intended for the dirt more like bikes designed and intended for the dirt become a negative?

Not as snappy and fun when on better roads I think. But as with gravel, everyone are after different features and have different plans for the bikes.

Gravel tires and dirt don't provide enough traction for anything "snappy," and even full on MTBs are "snappy" enough to be very maneuverable at low speeds and very stable at high speed.

Can we please stop pretending that road bike design is/was perfected back in the days of when soldering tubes and lugs together was the forefront of technology? This bike is the future.

This one is fun in the way that they decide to point out a flaw in typical riding technique in the middle of a bike review.

Our ride would’ve been made more comfortable with a Fox AX fork (with which the URS is compatible), but the drop bar design is the larger issue when the going gets rough. You can wrap your thumbs all the way around an MTB flat bar, where the drop bar hoods leave you struggling to not slide off the top. Yes, you can ride in the drops with your thumbs fully wrapped, but this can make it hard to reach the brake levers, especially over heavy washboard trails. The mountain flat bar is simply a better design for riding off-road.

You don't say? Don't most brake levers have reach adjustments?

The bike is a step in the right direction, but ultimately the lack of a front derailleur will be it's downfall.

Intersting bike... it looks like a drop bar mountain bike. I think it would feel awesome on gnarly trails with that slacker front end, but would probably feel slow handling on roads that were closer on the spectrum of real roads.
