Best cages for long distance/bike packing? Current ones waste space [photos inside]

At the moment I can either have my bottles or my frame pack in the triangle. But looking at it you can see there's actually a lot of space being wasted and the cages have their bolt holes too high up. Is there a cage guys are using to solve this? Must be a ton of riders who've worked out how to max out this area already! With these cages I can't use the lower bolt hole on the downtube.

I've also used these Zefal sideloader cages, which have a long slotted mount that gives a fair amount of choice of cage position, but the backplate, with the stop for the bottle can also be removed, and I've used that to hold a large bottle slid all the way down to the BB. Not great for drinking on the move, but fine for loading up with things you'll only need access to when stopped.

it shoes two side loading cages, but they don't seem to have them on their website. The traditional style cages don't play well together I'm finding, but the side loading options look class.

I see a guy used them here, but the seattube mounted one doesn't really go down so far. You could fit in a large bottle if it had better mount hole adjustability..

Yeah, same issue on the seattube of my SuperX (it fits lower, but not super low), but with the backplate removed (centre piece in the top photo) and just mounting the "cage" part (right piece in the photo) the bottle can then be slid further down.
Works fine like that for carrying a larger bottle of water, but not for drinking on the move. Has still had a solid enough grip on the bottles for me, even on rough Highland tracks, but you could rubberband the cage opening or something if you needed more than that.

The universal support bolt is another option, I used it in conjuction with the Wolftooth B-Rad bases to maximize space in the triangle.

Pretty sure king cage makes some with different offsets and they have a side loading version in the works
