As title really.

I'm in need of an upgrade for my TCX and considering the EC90 SL crankset, but I'm a little conscious of the Easton BB price being quite high and wonder if I can use an alternative, presumably all BB86 bb's are the same? Providing the one I get accomodates a 30mm axle?

~$50 bucks for a BB is high ? I installed the cups on the BMC that I am in the process of building. I plan to use THM cranks which are 30mm

low $40s on fleabay

There aren't a ton out there that are 30mm bb86s. The easton bb86 can be found for ~$40 no reason not to do that. The other one that comes to mind is the rotor 4130 which is in the same price range.

US.

UK pricing is ish £60 : $79. It's not horrific. I'd just like to know if there are any cheaper alternatives.

Thank you, I'm starting to think I'll just stick with the Easton in that case. I can't imagine I'd be changing it too often anyway.

GUB and Tokken do some decent BB386 for 30mm axle, the two sides screw together for good alignment and locate in the frame on O rings. should give a well aligned creak free solution.
I'm currently running my Gub BB386 30 with adaptors for a 24mm Axle FSA K force crankset, but i now have an Easton EC90sL crankset waiting to go on. Just need to pull the cranks and adaptors and it will fit straight in.

While by the OP's economy of scale, the prices are thru the roof, if longevity and reliability are among the requirements, then consider Hambini or BBInfinite.

actually the bearing life will be short, BB86 is designed for 24mm spindle

That's ultimately been my realisation. Looks like I'll have to go down another route. Thank you all for your input.

I just ordered a 2x Praxis Zayante Carbon crank for my Giant Revolt. It can be set up as a 1x or 2x with multiple chainring options. Its a little lighter than a Dura Ace crank and according to Praxis, stiffer. Price sits between Ultegra and Dura Ace.
