any way to build back tread on MTB shoes?

There's this old article whereby a guy ground off the old sole and used a Sidi SRS kit to rebuild it. I'd probably look at the red rather than yellow version though, as the yellow ones on my Sidi Spiders have worn fast.

thanks for the link. maybe that kind of total overhaul is for later on down the road.
i was thinking something like glueing/screwing old tire tread onto the existing shoe treads (i guess its called knobs?)

I have some Carnac mountain bike shoes. I thought I wanted some more room around the cleat. So I cut away the sole, tread around the cleat. And then decided that was bad. So I filled in the tread again using epoxy or maybe GOOP brand glue. I think it was the GOOP brand glue but not positive. Maybe it was epoxy. The filled in, new tread is as hard or harder than what I cut away. So its just like new. Any hard drying epoxy or glue will work to replace the tread on your shoes.

Thought about it some more and I am positive it was EPOXY. Some kind of epoxy I bought at Menards or maybe Home Depot. Mix it up and use it small kit. It worked perfectly to replace the hard sole on my shoes I foolishly cut away.

I use Shoe Goo to build up the soles so that the cleat doesn't contact the ground when walking. I also use Shoe Goo for filling cuts in the tread of bike tyres.
