They aren't seated properly. Deflate and put soapy water on the beads before reinflatingmathias720 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 9:04 ami have bought a set of Challenge Getaway HTRL 40mm
but they are really uneven and wobbly. both sideways and with flat spots.
i have done a few rides to see if it would set, but dont seem to work.
i have tried leaving them at max preassure for few days to see if the would stretch.
any tips for this or am i just unlucky with these tires? seems like great tires else.

The tyre is already available in Bike24, r2, perhaps in other shops too.FlatlandClimber wrote: ↑Fri Jun 03, 2022 3:56 pmThe Schwalbe G-One RS has been revealed for Unbound, only available in 700c and 3 widths.
They claim it's the fastest ever. And it will be available for €73 in August.
Schwalbe's Track record with "super fast tires", at least based on BRR, is rather bad.
Their road tires aren't so fast either, so I hope this is a leap forward.
Are you overinflating the tire on the rim you've got? Is it a MTB rim? Are you compressing your rim into wobbliness with air pressure? Check spoke tension with teh tire mounted.mathias720 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 13, 2022 9:04 ami have bought a set of Challenge Getaway HTRL 40mm

I had a similar issue with a 47c Maxxis Rambler on a wide asymetric hookess rim. One side wouldn't seat even at 60psi. It'd stay there for a few days on the wall hanger, then it'd randomly deflate all the way for no reason. Either the rim bed was cracked, bad tire/rim fit, or something else was up.

So looking at getting new tires again and again.
currently been on getaway, they were wobly and uneven. might try again.
also tried gravel king SK, rolled nice, nice low weight but seems to puncture easily
so looking for a new tires.
dont need alot of grip. maybe a bit of cornering grip. but we have loose medium sized gravel that nothing will bite into anyway.
prioriticing low rolling resistance,
semi puncture proff (dont need crazy)
and low weight)
so any experience with the teravail rutland?
https://r2-bike.com/TERAVAIL-Tire-RUTLA ... ck-tanwall
weight seems low. but what about puncture resistance and rolling resistance ?
also what about the Bontrager GR1 and GR2
cant really find any test of them
https://www.trekbikes.com/dk/da_DK/cyke ... Code=black
Also considering the RENE HERSE 38 or 44mm slick tires
both the extralite or endurance casings.
just dont know how well the extralite will hold up, as we have a bit of flint some random places.
i dont care about the price or longevity of tires.

Pirelli H would be my recommendation. Fast, decent grip for a small knob tyre and tough.
The Rutland's are intended for rougher terrain than you describe.
Also worth a look is maybe Tufo Thundero, I've just brought a pair but I've not fitted them yet. They test fast and are pretty light at 475g for the 44mm.

By absolutely tiny fractions, I doubt you would be able to tell the difference in the real world.mathias720 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 17, 2022 10:26 amboth are slower, heavier and worse puncture protection in test than challenge getawayNohands83 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 17, 2022 9:42 amPirelli H would be my recommendation. If the Getaways are anything like other Challenge tyres, they will be a lot harder to fit than the Pirellis or Tufos.
Yep really negligible... according to BRR the 40mm Tufo 3g are heavier than the Challenge and have the same RR at 33psi
The Pirelli's have thicker thread and sidewalls than the Challenges, based on this and my experiences with other Challenge tyres trust Pirelli's over them any day.
Your post sounded like you were looking for recommendations, I gave you 2 very valid ones.

Actually, the tyres went through a real world test with perfect results: the Unbound winner Ivar Slik used RS tyres. Also, he did not have any punctures or other issues.
It is just the lab test by some bike magazine that is missing.

Think i will go with a pair of rene-herse in endurance casing for the safety of it.
But looks like the 44 mm would be faster than the 38 mm version on brr.
The 38mm is only tested in standard casing but the endurance is normaly slower thn standard and the 44mm endurance is faster than the standard 38mm
Anything im missing in the test? Other than the 44 would be about 50g heavier pr. Tire
Would normaly go for the 38mm as its fine for the riding i do but if 44 is lower rolling, would maybe be better.
Maybe also not trully comparable. As the standard vs. Endurance in 44 mm version is 70gram difference
But standard vs. Endurance in 38mm version is same weight.
Can anyone clarify this?
Would the 38mm in endurance be faster than 44mm endurance ?
