And so it begins......

Especially for light weight issues concerning cyclocross / touring bikes & parts.

Thanks.

This is not a stock frame, rather it’s a proof of concept from a few years ago. Stays are shorter than usual at 420mm. This will take 700x35 cross tyres or 650x47b tyres.

The production version will likely take slightly fatter 700c tyres as the stays are longer.

Any suggestions for muddy conditions? Limit on 700c tyres is 35c.
Lovely bike. Schwalbe X-One TLR are tubeless 33mm and have excellent grip in mud.

Another question I have regards how 650b tyres compare to 700c. Currently I'm on Challenge Paris Roubaix 700x27c tyres, looking to spec either Gravelking 42 or Horizon 47.

After a enforced layoff I ventured out to test the Islabikes Mud tyres I recently bought. Tenacious grip but fast as well.

Next phase is to get the XTR Di2 working. Front mech didn’t want to play with a road chainline. So the plan is to fit this instead.

Fitting it using a spaced out threaded BB86 should mean the front mech has enough space to operate properly.
