My mountain bike is basically collecting dust, was thinking about picking up a rame and do a gravel bike. Most parts will swap over but my question is can I keep my XT calipers, and XT r-der, but use 105 hydro levers so I can run drop bars? Current setup is 1x11, new front ring, new set of tires and in theory I would have a quick gravel setup.

Almost all new frames come with flatmount for discs and for RD you need solution to fix cable pull.

Better choice would be the new RDRX-800 with clutch.

Lots of frames on the used market still use post mount.

Wolftooth TanPan will modify cable pull and allow you to use your XT RD with road levers.

Thanks guys. The sorts the shifting out. Frame with post mount should be "easy" to find.
