Hi WW,
I currently have a kona jake the snake CR which has a carbon frame and fork, 105 groupset, mechanical brakes. Front is Trp Hy/Rd, rear is a cheap single piston brake as my Hy/Rd broke. The bike has quick releases and a matte finish.
I am looking to get into CX racing this season and will also use the CX bike as a commuter, light mountain biking duties and maybe some gravel. The options I am considering are getting a Giant, Norco or Flanders or keeping my current Kona. I am thinking I will sell my Kona and buy a new one because i want thru axles (stiffer, safer), hydraulic brakes (more control) and a gloss finish (less mud pickup). What would you experts and enthusiasts out there suggest? Anyone have experience with the different bikes?
