I'm looking for some suggestions on disc brake rotors. Mostly looking for good price to value as this is a budget build using spare parts and and lightly used ebay deals. These will be used with Shimano ST-RS685/RS805 on a Carbonda 505 that will be used for commuting/gravel/light trails. Leaning heavily toward centerlock right now.

I tried Shimano SM-RT20. cheap rotor tends to be very heavy, but works 100%.

I've been using Shimano RS805 Flatmount 160 mm / 140 mm...they've served me well...not the lightest but...
just done a quick search & they're under US$50.

I think the thread starter has already decided on calipers, hence why the request for suggestions for disc brake rotors. :beerchug:

Second try...
I've been using SMRT 99 140mm & 160mm rotors
Lightish
I've had no issues
Less than $50US. I don't know if that counts as budget?

Performance wise the Shimano rotors have always been my favorites. Though I have to admit the majority of my disc brake usage is MTB-related.

I use Sram Centerline centerlock rotors ( 140 rear, 160 front ) - silent, efficient, hard to bend. Works for me. Next will be Campagnolo. Nothing wrong with Sram- but if brakes are made by Magura, rotors are thicker than anything on the market :) / read stiffer with better heat dispersion /

I can be wrong, and have plenty of examples for that ;)

Get the $10 Ashima Ai2 rotors off eBay. They're as light at they get and work great.

TRP’s are pretty decent at absorbing heat, dead straight, has had round edges from start and pretty lightweight.

And they are significantly cheaper than shimano’s xt/ultegra offerings (and lighter)
