Nice piece of work, any plans to modify the cage to get that top pulley closer on the smaller cogs.

Does anyone worry about putting a super-expensive rear mech on a gravel bike or is that just me?

Yeah... I hardly know where to start with that remark.

You just carry on enjoying your superior human status.

I think it's super good and my bike deserves it. Does it make any difference if it's a gravelbike or a roadbik?

Eliflap: Almost right, was a GX cassette, but now it sits a X01 cassette there :)

Kind of agree with you. If you crash it seems the later Shimano is smart since they moved the RD inboard.
Bikes:

Ax Lightness Vial EVO Race (2019.01.03)
Open *UP* (2016.04.14)
Paduano Racing Fidia (kind of shelved)

Ex bike; Vial EVO D, Vial EVO Ultra, Scott Foil, Paduano ti bike.

Yup, I do! I can tell you that this is the #1 reason why I haven't put Di2 on my CX bike. I think this season, though, will be the tipping point. Too many missed shifts and dropped chains during races. I'm going to install 8000 after the season.

I've had my fair share of cable problems. Replacing a di2 derailleur is cheaper than replacing a hydro shifter. Still way too expensive though, no argument there.

That said, I also have a cx/gravel singlespeed on 39/19.
