Haven't compared weights but how they ride. Tried Slate's with both on different surfaces. Would prefer Oliver all the time. The best thing with Slate and a so stiff alu fork is really stiff, no comfort at all on the Apex bike.

Thanks Jonas, that's a good point. I'm doing a century so comfort will be a big factor, less so the weight difference which should not be that much.
The number I got from the web:
22.09lbs (Size XL, (Ultegra double,) with bidon cages, XT pedals and off-road tyres)
So maybe 20.5 - 21 lb in M with XTR pedals and light tires?

My XL, full suspension, dropper post, knobby tire MTB is 19.9lbs. My rigid, sub $2000, dropper post, knobby tire MTB is 18lbs. Shouldn't the Slate be capable of being lighter than either?
My real question and reason for coming on this thread was to ask about wheel size. Now that you've had your Slate for a while how do you feel about the 650b wheels? My initial reaction was that the bike should have come with 700c.

I think i heard from a seller that it weights almost a kilo.

Cannondale is making a lot of no sense decisions ...maybe they want to close

The Slate is heavy and not the best choice for offroad use. The suspension is overkill on that kind of bike.
I've bought the Slate Apex (with rigid fork) for slow and long flat distance trainings, and because he looks unique. The 44t 11/26 gearing is perfect for those rides. I've made some changes to make him lighter. 700C wheels, SRAM Force road cassette, carbon seatpost and Fizik saddle. 9 kg.
