I don't think I can get an oem groupset/wheelset cheap enough if I go with Chinese carbon.
Plus I don't want to have to explain everytime someone asks who makes my bike

I use my speedercycling to commute to work in London a couple of times a week - more often that not I get compliments on the bike, build and paint job. That said, answering the 'where did I get' question it is quite complicated when you don't have much time!!!

My crank is 170 but I agree 270mm is too low for trail but not an issue for commute.

Great lightweight build, and props for using 26" knobbies.

Makes me wonder if you could cram small volume 650B/27.5" XC tires into that F-602 frame & fork, to make it a 650B "monster crosser".

If so, your BB height would increase 12mm from ~270mm to ~282 mm (possibly higher, based on tire volume), since the 650B/27.5" wheel has a 584mm rim diameter, compared to 26" wheel with 559mm rim diameter.

Just finished my Ridley X-Night disc build with DA Di2/R785. It currently has a full size crank, road pedals, and FMB 27c Paris Roubaix tubulars and weights in at 7.8kg.

I don't think that my bike is among the lightest ones. However it is a disc brake bike so I feel that it would be good contribution to this thread as there aren't so many disc brake bikes yet. And they say disc braking is the future so here it goes. Pacman and Pinky likes the bike too.

Also you should note that my focus has been on practicality and durability rather than on weight. Also things like power meter bring in more weight. The ST-R785 / BR-R785 combo is also very heavy when compared to cantilever setup. Also the cockpit is aluminium because it is cheaper to crash .

My bottom line is: disc brake CX bikes can be lighish too. Maybe not near the lighter end of 7 kg but almost.

My bike weighs 8.2 kg in total. Sorry for not weighing all the parts separately. EDIT 2014-10-17: updated pictures.

Finally got my Lugi weighed on an a Park scale... 16.1 lbs with eggbeaters (not ti). I could still cut seatpost and steerer some, as well as add ti spindles and probably get sub 16 lbs. I'm still loving the bike though, and probably won't change a thing (other than cutting steerer down).
