Nys on Shimano Carbon?

I looked at the wc race in Kalmthout, and nys wasn't on his 'normal' fir antara's, but on the deep shimano wheels...
Anyone knows why?

Call me crazy, but I would say sponsorship, SHimano has been cracking the whip on sponsored teams to use all of their stuff, mainly wheels if you want groupset given to the team.

I was in Ruddervoorde and saw Nys still racing on his FIR wheels (without stickers of course, due to sponsorship), but -as I mentioned in that topic- I saw the Shimano carbon wheels in the material zone for the first time there. So they had them allready but didn't use them.

Fir used to be imported in Belgium thru Shimano Benelux. Not anymore... Guess they (Shimano) are trying to promote their own wheelsets.

nys should have at least 10 sets of wheels with different tubulars/threads, so i don't think that shimano has enough wheels now that they are relatively new(there are as well groenendaal, vanthourenhout, etc. who need the same wheels as well.
