Ah right yeah I need 700cc, Mezcals I have had on my mtb in 2.25. Is there a 44mm in 700c? I thought 2.1 was smallest. Tufo Gravel Swampero also looks interestingCampagYOLO wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 1:01 pmThat's the downside of semi slicks with a slick centre tread, any sign of mud and they become useless. Being UK based with our wet weather and risk of mud all year round, I much prefer tyres with tread all over.MrRolandos wrote: ↑Tue Nov 12, 2024 8:02 amHmm so its getting more rainy and muddy here, so I need more grip. Currently riding 42mm pathfinders. Love them, very fast and agile. But in the mud, kinda useless.
Love Pirelli and Continental. I have Pirelli Scorpion XC RC on my mtb and love it. Was thinking about the pirelli but now im not sure. What do you guys recommened for 45-47mm? Need grip for muddy sand roads
I'd recommend the Vittoria Mezcals in 44mm, good grip even with shallow mud and still feel quite fast. Only in deeper mud do they struggle but that's when you'd want a mud specific tyre.
I kinda wish for 45-47mm, black, tubeless, nobby tire. Tufo has 44mm as widest?

The Tufo Thundero 36mm tires I ordered from BikeInn got lost in the mail, so I opted for my second choice of Pathfinder Pro 38mm. They arrived yesterday and I was pretty surprised to see the weight difference between the two. One weighed 477g (right on spec), but the other was 517g. A 40g difference is pretty normal for my MTB tires, but that seems like a lot for a gravel tire (over 8% heavier).
Am running Thunder HD, superb tyre.BespokeTrailMix wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 5:55 pmThe Tufo Thundero 36mm tires I ordered from BikeInn got lost in the mail, so I opted for my second choice of Pathfinder Pro 38mm. A bit off topic, but this BikeInn is driving me crazy every time I order from them. Everything should be on stock, delivery on every product 2-3 days, yet when I order, some items are moving for 1-2 weeks from one warehouse to another. And then when they have packed it, and I already have the tracking number for GLS, it takes 4 working days for the shipment to actually go on the way. Will have to avoid BikeInn when I need something as soon as possible. They have good prices, but will only buy there when buying things to have on reserve.
I suggest they don’t really have items in stock. Just generate the consignment for your order, issue tracking number, order parts from supplier, and pack the order once items arrive.Agent041 wrote:Am running Thunder HD, superb tyre.BespokeTrailMix wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 5:55 pmThe Tufo Thundero 36mm tires I ordered from BikeInn got lost in the mail, so I opted for my second choice of Pathfinder Pro 38mm. No, I think they do have it. But they have all sorts of sub-categories (bikeinn, snowinn, runnerinn,....) and probably seperate warehouses. And some products probably fell under other subcategorie. Have mailed them and urge them to at least then change the availability when having in basket before ordering. But their reply was just saying they are sorry, so will probably stay that way.
If anyone was looking for Hutchinson caracal race tires, I noticed r2 just got some in stock. I ordered 4, they still seem to have more.
These are pretty hard to find at the moment, at least at most mainstream websites and online bike parts sellers.
Just an fyi

Any feedback from people who have used these tyres? Nearly as fast as a GP5000 on the road as BRR suggested? How much good are they off road with that minimal side tread?

I've heard it suggested elsewhere that BikeInn doesn't always have the stock they appear to have when ordering, but I honestly have no idea. The prices seemed too good to be true (even after their high shipping rate to USA), but reviews were pretty positive as long as you're willing to wait a bit to receive it. I ordered something earlier this year from BikeInn and everything arrived safe and sound in just a few weeks. But this recent order was placed on Aug 29 and I'm yet to receive it almost 3 months later. It made it to Chicago via PostNL and switched hands to USPS, then disappeared. I was willing to be very patient because I didn't even have the wheelset for these tires yet, but I finally forced them to file a missing parcel report. They did so with PostNL, which seemed useless since I could see it had made it into the USPS system before disappearing. So I took into my own hands and filed a report with them too. After a few weeks, I still hadn't heard anything. BikeInn wouldn't ever give me a straight answer on when they would refund me, so I got sick of playing games and told them I was filing a charge back on my credit card in two days if they didn't refund me. I got an automated email shortly thereafter saying my refund was being processed. Technically this was a shipping issue and not a BikeInn issue, but I wasn't stoked about how they handled it. Honestly just bummed I didn't get the tires. I'm yet to find a Tufo Thundero anywhere else for that good of a price; they're not readily available in the US. I could probably just place the order again and there's a chance I'll get it this time haha. But the wound hasn't healed enough for me to give them another chance.Agent041 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 20, 2024 7:32 amNo, I think they do have it. If it shows delivery time which assumes immediate dispatch, it should be in stock. If it doesn't, they don't have stock and it's "in stock at distributor" - which is also often untrue. Basically don't order anything from TradeInn that doesn't show immediate dispatch.BespokeTrailMix wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 9:34 pmI've heard it suggested elsewhere that BikeInn doesn't always have the stock they appear to have when ordering, but I honestly have no idea. all the TUFO tires and sizes are available in the link below from BikeTiresDirect and showing ready to ship. BTD is a reputable company in Portland and will get these tires to you within 3 days usually. Bought many times from there and never had any issues, and customer service has always been super helpful the times i had questionsBespokeTrailMix wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2024 9:34 pmI've heard it suggested elsewhere that BikeInn doesn't always have the stock they appear to have when ordering, but I honestly have no idea. Thanks. I believe I had seen them available there, but they were almost half the price on BikeInn. I ended up finding a set of Pathfinder Pros for $30 each, so I'll give those a shot.BRP wrote: ↑Sat Nov 23, 2024 7:18 pmall the TUFO tires and sizes are available in the link below from BikeTiresDirect and showing ready to ship.
