Ax makes the frames themselves but they use another company for the painting of the frames. I have no doubts about the fact that they got the rest of the agreed details right but apparently an internal mistake was made with the colors. I must admit that I was quiet disappointed when I received the frame but do understand that human mistakes can be made and now that a good solution is offered I can be a happy customer again. It is my understanding that on short notice they will have a new employee responsible for customer support for their bike business (a new Nils) and someone responsible for bike (parts) quality control. Ax is a very small company but they do know that customer service is also a very important aspect of the business and are working on that aspect.

Seriously...they are at least 12 weeks behind with handlebars, rims and cranks. Do you really think they are going to start producing custom frames beyond maybe a few "show" bikes. They can't keep up with the "easy" stuff.

It seems like with all the money you spent, you should get your name on the frame (chainstay), not (designed by) Axel Schnura.

Ditch those ilink frame savers and put some black heat shrink on instead.

I suppose that's a good thing because your front brake housing is too long. It's what's causing the front brake to slam over to the side like that.

Mambocat so the 1140 g excludes the ax fork and fork cover, correct? That would put the frame at little under 750 g

Ah! No fork. Not so sick....

And no chainrings, I assume, so it's not quite a "crankset".

Just wondering how many framesets are out there now? I've not seen a single built up bike yet that wasn't for a member of the trade (not that I've searched a lot). Are there plenty of owners? Just wondering as with all the new parts and the 'engage' branding there must be a lot of work going on at AX?
