Yes Dalai, I did type in the woring values for hubs + rims, and thererfore weight budget remaining for spokes and nipples, but did provide the correct total weight values with spokes and nipples (if you "buy" the values I used per spoke and nipple). So my conclusion still stands, but give me demerrits for carelessness in writing out some intermediate steps.

Dalai wrote:Nice farm_lim. I'm looking at doing a similar build.
Concerned about the extra weight of the hubs, as they are listed as 274g and it will be pretty tight already to go under 1000g...
Can you please weigh both hubs separately?
front is 76g, rear is 212g.
you cant buy fitness, but you can buy advantage.

@hammertime, yes i was just being conservative and your calculations are right.
will post build weight when finished.
@devinci, own a pair of soul s2.0 also with the v2 hubs for 2 yrs now. no problems so far.
@dalai, i think 274g was the weight of the previous versions. in one of the pages of their website (s2.0 page if i remember it correct), the v3 hubs was mentioned with a weight of 280g.

Thanks for the weights. I had seen the 280g also on the Soul website, but was hoping the latest version was the lighter of the two.
Edit - just checked the Soul website again - the hubs details page has just been updated with the new weights. Weight: 75g (Front) 213g (Rear), 288g pair

My rims are on the way... $261.00 for the pair including shipping by EMS. 20h front, 24h rear with 3K finish. Advertised weight is 500grams for the pair. We'll see how they work out.
I'm looking at American Classic hubs... micro 58 front and the 205 rear. They fit my budget and I can easily upgrade the bearings to ceramic later (I use VXB bearing with great results on my other wheels). The hubs run $340.00 online. That leaves me $400.00 and 237 grams to play with for spokes and nipples... I'm planning on Sapim CX-ray and alloy nipples. Assuming 200 grams for 44 spokes and 14 grams for 44 nipples (weights based on WW listings) that brings the total to about 977 grams for well under $1000.00.
Any feedback on the hubs would be greatly appreciated. I know there are many other choices out there but I can't find any in that price range.
I'm not sure how long it will take to get the rims... I assume a couple of weeks and am not in a rush. But I will post photos on the scale when they arrive.

Very nice!
I'm extremely interested in building the same. What spokes and nipples did you use? Spoke lengths?
