I installed a VumaChrono 53/39 to my Guru Chrono with a
set of the Standard bearings and rode it for the 1st time ystdy
but there is a rotational ticking sound coming from the crank
where the chain meets the ring when I am on 39/15,16,17 all
the way up to 21. So far I hv changed the DA chain twice, once
shortening aand then lenghtening it but sound still persist even
when I'm on the 53 ring. I hv checked and Ft D is aligned and
chain not rubbing on the side of the Ft D. It looks like the chain
is sitting too high on the chainring thus causing this sound, any
ideas on remedy or is it because I'm a just a lousy mechanic.
I'm running DA 7800 by the way. Very frustrating, the crank
looks great but the ticking sounds is so iritating! Could this be
a chainring problem?

you don't have the chainring installed backwards, do you? A buddy of mine did that once. Good times....

The crank came stock right outta box, I gave up using it and hv put
my normal DA7800 crankset back on and everythings smooth and
silky, what a big let-down!!!!

Please be aware that if you're frame was not modified (by Guru or the dealer) for external cable routing at the BB, you should NOT install the BB30 and should NOT use the Vuma cranks or any crank that is BB30. The cables MUST be run externally when using a BB30 crank as there is otherwise no space inside the BB shell for the axle cover which prevents the cables from wearing through the crank's axle. Even with the Teflon liner, IT WILL CUT THE AXLE!!!

Please call me at customer service at 877-755-4878 x 215 for further info.

Hi Michel,

Tks for the info, I noticed that the liners for the cables inside the BB
bracket were a bit rough to the touch when I switched it back to a normal
standard axle. How can I run the cables on the outside on my Chrono??
Frame was fm Hi-V Spore. Any way of retrofitting the BB to fit the Vuma
Chrono BB30?

Do you know if this will work with normal 110 bcd 4 bolt inner chainrings?
