Huh? Power2Max measures total power at the spider, not your left leg only.

@Mario Jr: that can't be the source of the difference between your p2m and Rotor power meter. Both measure all the torque, and thus all the power you produce. The difference in measurement approaches is that we use a sensor in the crank spider and estimate the left right balance by comparing the power produced between alternate power phases and Rotor measures at the crank arms and adds the two together.

@eric: I found that my power on the road bike is relatively close to 50-50, sometimes 51-49, rarely 52-48. On my MTB I had 53-47 the other day. I think my position is a bit off, I will have to check that.

Ok, I was just under the impression that the P2M only measured the right side. Sorry for that. But now I don't know what caused the big difference in power...

Did anyone jump on the power2max deal?

still twiddling my fingers here. to be or not to be. I'm fine with the Rotor 3D/BOR combo.

Was at one of the bike shops local to me yesterday. Stages are aware of the issue with battery drain and are redesigning the battery door to prevent shorts causing drain of batteries. Well thats what they told me anyway.

Yeah the quarter turn battery cover is really my only design criticism of the stages unit. Even though I haven't had problems, it seems like the cover should be like the back of a high end sports watch.

Stages Contact info:

Sales and Administration:
1732 NW Quimby Suite 250 Portland, OR 97209

Production and Tech Support:
3090 Sterling Cir Ste 102, Boulder, CO 80301

- If the production and test was in Portland rather than Boulder I think they might have noticed a water ingress problem before now! It still amazes me that they did not come across this issue before now though, presumably it is IPxx certified?

In case anybody is interested - we finally opened our sites for the new Type S orders. Deliveries are scheduled to start in February.

For those who got Stages , did you get the extended warranty?

I ended up with a P2M. I went through some factors (ease of transfer to another bike, price, functions, warranty, etc) and P2M won it. The deal breaker for Stages was the warranty. I think 1 year is pretty absurd and after having gone through warranty issues with bike related stuff before I wanted peace of mind. I wished Stages did a BlackFriday/CyberMonday type of deal so it could've made my decision tougher but too bad.

The guys @ P2M have been pretty responsive to any question and that's a huge plus. Let's see how this new toy performs.

PS
to sweeten the deal I paid through Paypal because they offered a $20 cashback on orders over $400 + used my CC which gave back 2% on purchases ;)

jever98 thanks for the update.

What is the lightest Type S option available for BB86 type BB's? I'm guessing the FSA K-Force Light or the Rotor 3D plus. Any chance you could post the weights for us?
