Hmm the frame might not be the lightest but it has some good parts on it - ITM The Stem, Deda 215 bars, Nokon cables, KCNC skewers etc.

I been using the Endurance saddle for months so decided to leave it on the cross/training bike (other bike has a Phoenix), and about the seatpost, i wanted to upgrade it as the original one was a Ritchey, not very light...

The KCNC seatpost was an option as it is light and cheaper than the AX, but went for the Daedalus instead as it has a layback, and the frame feels a bit too short (my other frame has a slightly longer top tube and i use a 135mm stem)...

Ouch. Not just any broken part but that's several hundred euros broken.

I looked at getting this post but worried about breakages which seem more common than in other posts. Maybe this is not the case but it's clearly not as strong as other posts.

But that is weightweenieism for you, sometimes you get expensive problems

One reason I only ride parts that I can replace. My lightest ebay saddle weighs 125 grams...a measly 50 grams difference and costs much less.

It's gotta be pretty tricky to build that "head " to the post in that shape. Looks as if this one may just have been a shade light on material up there. When the envelope is pushed, you periodically get to see the limit.
I'd happily use an AX pillar. If they ever build one that can fit over the addict isp, I'll buy it!

I know, well, happens, but not sure if should happen...

I've ridden two 12hrs solo XC races (with a different bike) using a FRM carbon post (160g if i remember right) and had no problems at all...

The worst of that is the thing that could happen with your body, that´s a very bad part to break

I talked with Madcow about this seatpost for MTBs and he told me that although it says MTB, AX specifically advises against off road use for the post.

Why would they put MTB? Your guess is as good as anyones.

That being said I have used the KCNC post for real cyclocross (dismounts and remounts not just off road riding) and have had no issues.

just installed mine , its scary light and thin
when looking at your picture u can see the crack goes threu the dimpled letters,that is/could be a weak(er) point
regardles of this case,85kg for road is not the same as 85kg mtb or cx in my book,but i dont to claime to be right
if u would get a new one for free i would still use a other one
