180 cm tall and 88.5cm inseam. I think I have long legs, my whole family does and it seems to run in the family.

Although you're known as "stumpytrunks" it's quite hard to imagine that your inseam is really only 79cm... nor can I imagine that you could find a standard frame that you can stand over and still have enough reach.

It would make sense because mine is 77.6 and my saddle height is 67.6. His would be almost right in line although those are some short legs for 178cm height.

It makes sense but that's assuming his saddle height isn't too low. My inseam is 80.5cm and my height is 173cm and I'm on the verge of requiring a custom top tube. If he's really 178cm tall and his inseam is really only 79cm then he's off the chart and it would be virtually impossible for him to fit properly with a standard frame.

Height 170, inseam 82.1, last time I checked. That's something like 0.48, maybe just over. I have no idea if thats long or short, but I have short femurs.

I'm 180cm and I have 86.5cm inseam, 76cm saddle height.
My bike toptube is 56cm and I ride with 12cm stem with 8.5cm saddle-bar drop.

I think that I'm quite a normal. ( not mentally  )

6' tall (182.9cm)
34" inseam (86.4cm)
30" saddle height from BB (76.2cm)

No idea on the femur/tibia ratio, wish I knew.

Awright, after 27 entries including mine below, the average posted ratio in this thread is .480

me: 183/85 (.464), using the book in the crotch, back to the wall method for inseam.

I have always thought of myself as both long torso'd and long legg'd

OT, maybe we should start a femur to tibia,Shin to thigh ratio thread ?I really think that this would be more relavent to performance in cyclists than actual leg lenght?

.

In high school I had the same sitting height as the tallest guy in the school but was over 20cm shorter than him. Not quite sure where the 79cm inseam got plucked from but it probably would be around that. Saddle height is perfect, tried putting it up 2mm the other week and I was rolling a bit, so back down. The only real problem I have is with headtube lengths being too long but thats nothing a funny looking stem and deep drop bars can't fix to a degree. I'll change the frame once I stop getting results
