Scott CR1

I just ordered a Scott CR1 frameset and am eagerly waiting for it to arrive. So far, all I have heard is amazing things about the bike. I am waiting for the crushing blow to my ego that says a Madone or Giant is a better ride. Anyone out there in Euro-land that has some experience with these frames? I've been on Cannondales for the past 6 years and absolutely love them. What should I expect?

Did 3500 miles on my Scott and I can tell you it's lightyears better than a mandone and the Giant (at least in larger sizes)

Hi, I wonder how durable the CR1 is? I've heard that it scratches easily. how does your CR1 look and feel after 3500 miles?

I get paint chips easily.
The finish polishes up really well, hiding the chips is difficult.

Scott's catalog claim the weight of CR1 fork is 360 gram but it not as light as they claimed.

443g uncut fork heavy? Get real. My Stork Stiletto was 416g uncut. GET Easton EC90SLX if you want light. You couldn't get non-aero Scott fork with frame, that's lighter one?

But your bar, pedal and tyre choise seem to bit ugly or strange.

Why not normal bar like 3TTT Prima 199 (less weight and nicer look),Time (man, you have Campa parts...) etc. pedals and Michelin or Vittoria tyres. (better durabitily and rolling)

I just ordered a Large (from starbike.com) without the Scott fork and plan on using a Easton SLX. Did the FSA headset ship with your frame? I'm wondering if I will need to source one myself. Also the BB threading is English or Italian?

You need to have 31.6 seat post or 27.2 with adapter.

I got the headset with the frame although it came with the aero fork.
Why don´t you just write starbike and ask them?
The BB is BSA.

I have a CR1 (did about 6k km so far), whereas my brother has a Giant TCR and to me the Scott's front feels quite a bit better (stiffer), although the Giant corners better and is a little more comfortable.
Both definitely great bikes!

Thanks much! I ordered a 27.2 New Ultimate Post (and New Tune 44g Concorde Seat) and a USE 31.6 shim. I have BB's (AC ISIS) in both threading so that will not be an issue.

Can't wait till the order arrives.

The paint indeed chips off easy but reapairing is so easy. Teammate got some deep scratches on his frame. I sandpapered it and spraYed a new layer of clear coate on the chainstay and it from new.
