Are DA10 and Campy cassettes compatible?
I need another cassette for my training wheels and am wondering if I can go the cheaper campy rather than DA.

Thanks in advance

No way. 9 speed was compatible but 10 speed isnt anymore...no chance.

I tried and it didn't work well, on some cogs, specially the big ones the shifting was very poor. I wouldn't recomend it.

I'm using DA 9sp with 2004 10sp Record without issues. I just locked out the last click by adjusting the last gear out.

Zoey....why would you be making your 10 speed bike into a 9 speed bike?

Just curious...

It's also alot cheaper to buy replacement cassettes as well.
Looks like I'll be saving till I can afford another DA10 cassette, till then I'll be getting experience with my chain whip.

Thanx for the advice

This works pretty allright as long as you have a Dura ace rear derrailleur. Even T-mobile were riding Campy wheel on the Dura-Ace bikes for some period this year. The differences are actually lower between the 10 speed systems than they were between 9 speed.

centre to centre on 9 speed
campy 4.34 mm
shimano 4.55 mm

centre to centre on 10 speed
camp 4.12
shimano 3.95

I know some of the riders of Team Telekom did ride campagnolo but since the campy wheels can be easily fitted with a shimano freehub (delivered by campa or machined by almost every good CNC programmer) this should not be a problem. Furthermore I composed a full titanium Cogset for Shimano 10 speed on a Campy freehub just by machining new aluminium rings (they work perfect) and adding titanium cogs of campy 9 speed.
