I was in a local shop this morning and had the opportunity to see a Montello up close... a true piece of art. I couldn't help but think of LJ's that never saw the light of day, unfortunately...

@ LJ

So what exactly went wrong with the build that caused you to stop it all together? Perhaps you've answered this question in one of the many posts on your Montello build, but I wasn't feeling like going through the different threads... Since the Montello is a no go, what will you be using for your time trials? Surely you're going to replace it with something special... so let us in on the 'time travel' machine you will be using...
BILL NIKO, YOU WILL NOT EVER BE FORGOTTEN.

Yeah, I read that post but was just curious as to what specifically caused him problems... hopefully he'll be providing us with some more TT porn soon...

Am sure Lee's next build will be great (any new bike has alot to live up to!)
Pretty sure when the new Dogma comes out, Lee will attempt to take it to the next level
I for one am looking forward to it :D

I am sort of with you on this one. I don't get what could cause the abondonment fo such a project. Perhaps I just can't relate to the frustration as I don't put together high-end works of cycling art for a project. In any case like others I am sure LJ will have something for us to admire very soo.

BTW LJ if your reading this I am curious how many km/miles you train per week. (Just want to makes sure those wonderful bikes are getting the proper treatment.

I know Howmuchdoesitweighs read this, but Mr Gib, you might want to check it out http://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum ... t=montello

Basically its LJ saying he doesnt really want to comment on anything to do with that bike, apart from the one post he made. I wouldn't expect any replies here

No further comment to make on the Montello. Its not something that needs to be discussed.

In terms of my training, you can always see it on my LW Blog, although I've not had much spare time to update it recently. Running is the general theme but that doesnt make me a lame ass on the bike Mr Gib.

HOWMUCHDOESITWEIGH probably doesn't know but LJ doesn't race or ride time trials so he might not be replacing it with another lo pro.

If he does though, bet it would be the TT01  Lee, I'm amazed you still class running as your main sport :?:

I've had the pleasure of getting to know LJ quite well. I can tell you he is a man of his word and of honor, so when he says that the vision was just not coming together as he hoped, it is really the reason.

I tried to help with some of the issues that arose with that bike, but having put together many projects, I've realized, as Lee did, that sometimes you just have to admit when something is not living up to your expectations.

It is very frustrating when products and people that you put your trust into, let you down. And when this happens multiple times, it makes projects turn into chores. It's not fun to build something, if you have lost the passion for it.
