utterly pointless - why would anyone need that level of data and screen size when riding a bike ffs!
Level of data? It offers much less data than Garmin or even HH or Bryton etc. Screen would be nice to accommodate more data, but it isn't present and it's way too heavy. The wind sensor would be nice if it was accurate and gave more information, but it's unclear whether they can fix the accuracy issues in software.

I would argue that, for what they are trying to achieve and the location of the sensor, it’s surprisingly accurate

Do we know how many fps it gets running Zwift? At that weight, it can't be seriously intended for outdoors...

Jokes aside, head unit manufacturers are really digging their own grave when they normalize putting phone-sized screens on the bars. I know the arguments. Robustness, screen technology (still applies to this one, it's not all bad), runtime (if they get the software to behave) and goodies like dedicated buttons. But we are fooling ourselves when we pretend that the main driver of dedicated had unit adoption isn't style. When head units keep growing, that style penalty will eventually collapse.
Also price. You can get perfectly functioning smartphones for under $200. Sure the battery life may not be as good but as Hammerhead and now Wahoo have moved to drastically shorter battery life even that isn't as big of a benefit anymore.

Did you get one already or is that a review photo? In either case it really is too big imo.

^ Good for the Marc Hirschi aero position though - if the UCI hadn't banned it.

I needed a head unit and picked one up.

Other than the size, I mostly like what I see so far. UI and screen are a huge step up. Touch screen is good, lagging slightly behind the 1050 on that front, but I prefer the display on the Ace.

The wind sensor seems to have two segmented ports. I’m guessing this is their solution to eventually integrate wind yaw measurement.

Damn. That looks like more 5psi on the front tire to compensate

Can you see POIs on the route from Komoot? Like, if you add stores or water fountains, do they show up on the map?
Thank you

Here is a size comparison with BOLT 2. That thing is huge. It almost doesn't fit my mount.

So, I finally was able to get out and ride (it’s been freezing and raining/snowing).

It was chilly (40 degrees F) with a bit of wind. I chose a 30 mile, hilly (75ish feet/mile with some very steep 16%+ pitches along the way and a couple of sustained climbs).

This was my first experience outdoors with the Ace. Here are my impressions:

1) Radar integration was good
2) Speaker is super loud
3) Unit was stable in my K-Edge mount
4) It’s huge, but this ended up bothering me less in practice than I thought
5) Screen is good. Data are readable. The screen is not as bright as the 1050 and it was harder for me to do a quick “data glance.” I spent less time looking at the head unit when compared with the 1050
6) Routing and GPS were fine
7) Elevation responsiveness was average. Seemed to underreport a bit on grade. Ended up being about 200 feet short on elevation versus the base map at the end of the ride
8) Touch screen is responsive, but I ended up using the buttons much more than the screen
9) Wind sensor: oh boy. I guess it works? Kind of… the wind where I live is complex. There’s plenty of traffic, tree cover, hills that block wind or cause turbulence, etc. I was also almost always riding in a cross wind. I found that the sensor sometimes matched what I was feeling. Other times, it seemed completely off. I had a moderate cross tailwind that was reading 8mph headwind when I was going 23mph. That was nowhere near accurate. When compared with Windsock, the Wahoo was giving me more favorable wind readings most all of the time. Perhaps it needs time to calibrate? Perhaps it doesn’t cope well with cold air? Perhaps it doesn’t adequately compensate for cross winds yet? I don’t know. It could also be spot on, but I’m skeptical

10) There were some minor annoyances with page selection that was probably down to settings I should change

11) I will agree with DCRainmaker in that it feels half-baked. I think he was a little harsh.

12) Oh yeah, the load up time still sucks.

Overall, it is easily Wahoo’s best head unit. In my opinion, it is not presently as good as the 1050. However, if the features are refined and fleshed out (especially the wind sensor), I think it would surpass the 1050. I was surprised at how the size only bothered me when stopped, but was fine when riding. I still might choose to race with a Bolt or 840.

It was about what I expected. I like it generally and will keep it with the hope that Wahoo fully develop it and don’t abandon it like they did with the KICKR Bike v1 and KICKR v5.

By the way, the integration with Wahoo’s indoor stuff is outstanding.

For anyone on the fence of purchasing the new ACE or just curious I thought I would supply some more info. Asside from the short cummings of the unit ( That have already been beaten to death) I wont mention those. One thing of note I hadnt seen anyone mention, but I realized if you sync the Ace to both the wahoo app and the element app, the element app still supports Trainer Road at least for uploading to, so it let me upload my rides to TR that way, I havent tried to push a workout through using the element app so unsure if that works, Its winter here so all my rides are on the trainer right now. I am coming off a Roam V1 so below are some images as a comparison from data fields I use set up the same way, The screen is obviously larger, but what i found pretty sweet as i can ft the main fields I use, which are, Power 3 sec av, Heart Rate, Active ride time, Distance, and MPH, and still have ample room to see the map, in the Roam I could never fit all that on one page and have the map functional, so I had to move between them, so this alnoe is worth it to me for the added cost, I dont care so much about 30 hours of battery life or even the 17 that DC mentioned, I am enjoying it for whats currently there, and will be excited for the Firmware updates through the winter and be ready for spring.

One more thing of note I currently have a Winspace T1550 with their bar and carbon mount, Ace fits it perfect no issues, I also have an SL7 with an EXS Aerover bar with the stock mount it comes with and that does not fit, I am not sure if the mount that came with the EXS Aerover bar is the short or the long version ( would love to know this if anyone has any insight), if its the short then the long version should work assuming it can support the weight of the ace, maybe the Ti version, the winspace version seems prety strong and capable of supporting it. I measured with a caliper from the center of the winspace mount to the edge of the bar since it fits perfect, this is what you need in mm to test your own mount. When turning the Ace in the mount the corner almost hits the bat but just clears it, hope that helps anyone considering it, or if there are mount manufactures out there, we need more options.

Strange. My stock (plastic) mount of EXS is nearly 7cm by the means of your measurement, way longer than the Winspace one, ugly with Garmin 530/540, which is the second reason why I designed Ti mount for them.

They changed it?
