Colnago All New Aero Bike
Moderator: robbosmans
Bikeradar posted a geo chart. Very very NOT progressive geometry. Size M, reach/stack at 386/540. As a comparison, the addict, a climbing bike, is longer (by 9mm) and eventually lower depending on the virtual angle of that y-shaped colango handlebar.

Does the geo chart already compensate the positive stem rise? Or does it mean, that you have to add another cca 30 mm to the stack because of handlebar rise?

1) What does this even mean regarding the Y1RS aero claims? That is safe to assume their claims are real?TobinHatesYou wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 11:24 ambmrk wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 10:46 amThe bike looks better than on the photos but just as an design object and it screams uneccessary complexity. The handlebar is honestly a gimmick if not a safety concern and is probably porky as hell. The computer mount will definitely be even worse than the oltre one.
Don't believe their aero claims for a second and i am eager to see independent testing.
1) The TT1 is one of, if not the fastest TT bike in the World Tour.
2) I’ve seen the computer mount, the base uses GoPro-style fingers and attaches with a single-bolt to the underside of the “stem.” It looks fine.
2) You're right, it will probably not look as bad as i thought.
This is going to please nobody. The regressive grandpas and people in the Gulf who barely ride wanting wide 440s or 460s, and the very small number of their customers who actually want to go fast wanting something significantly more narrow than 377.Robius wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 11:23 amLooks like only 2 sizes to me. Am I missing something? I would really like to see a 3rd smallest option (357mm)mrbrown4001 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 9:50 am3 handlebar sizes. Why even try. The rest of the bike looks great tho

Yeah that "bottle" is doing a lot of work therealanyu wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 11:06 amOK I will do a dirty math here. V4RS is claimed to be 13 W faster than V3RS with the same shallow wheels, and 27 W faster switching to deep wheels.
Y1RS now is claimed to be 20 W faster than V4RS. All data claimed at 0 yaw, and at higher yaw the number will be slightly larger.
Let's say Y1RS is 35 W faster than V3RS at 50 km/h, so it's equivalent as ~25 W at 45 km/h. V3RS is 229 W in tour results.
P. S. Y1RS in the wind tunnel is equipped with a taped Skypivot.

Does Colnago even need to sell any of these? Sure people want to ride the same bikes as the pro's, but exclusivity makes people lust even more. Maybe they'll release an endurance geo around the TDF for regulars? (doubtful lol)
They will but the v5rskeaton wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 2:12 pmRDY wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 1:04 pmThis is going to please nobody. Do I see a round seatpost? As in if you happen to have cut it too short, you can buy a new one from a third party? That would remove the ISP counterargument completely. But there's no way I'd trust my knees to stay clear of that cockpit when it of the seat, gaps are in the range of millimeters even with a conventional bar. Not without careful experimentation at least.

The barstem is equivalent to -6deg. It’s likely we’ll see some riders on “pro-only” -17s.

Very interesting, it seems that the UAE is trying out various carbon cranks from Chinaalanyu wrote: ↑Mon Dec 09, 2024 11:06 amOK I will do a dirty math here. V4RS is claimed to be 13 W faster than V3RS with the same shallow wheels, and 27 W faster switching to deep wheels.
