OK I will do a dirty math here. V4RS is claimed to be 13 W faster than V3RS with the same shallow wheels, and 27 W faster switching to deep wheels.
Y1RS now is claimed to be 20 W faster than V4RS. All data claimed at 0 yaw, and at higher yaw the number will be slightly larger.

Let's say Y1RS is 35 W faster than V3RS at 50 km/h, so it's equivalent as ~25 W at 45 km/h. V3RS is 229 W in tour results.

P. S. Y1RS in the wind tunnel is equipped with a taped Skypivot.

Very interesting, it seems that the UAE is trying out various carbon cranks from China
Cybrei got the nod of approval from SRM. We might see UAE with Cybrei/SRM/Carbon-Ti setup next year.

I'm very surprised that I actually like it.
I hate the madone rear end. I hate the S5 front end. Somehow the combo works for me?

I mean.. I don't think it's my bike. But it's a very cool bike. Kudos to Colnago for something more on the radical end.

Weirdly same here. The more I see pictures of it I’m actually kind of digging it. It just looks futuristic. It’s better looking than the Tarmac SL8, Bianchi Olre, Cervelo S5, and Trek Madone. Don’t think I could ever buy one but it looks sweet.

One thing with this bike is that the actual saddle setback is significantly affected by frame size and seatpost height.

I guess this was designed around pogacar bikefit info. The rest of the world will just have to fit in somehow.

Nope. The Tarmac is ugly AF. Sold mine because it was that ugly.

Quite something that the same company that drops this futuristic machine also dropped their much more traditional Steelnovo Settanta only last week. Two bikes which on the face of it are connected only by a humongous price tag.

Curious to see higher resolution pictures of that black/holographic frameset in the initial spy photos...

Read on Ciclicorsa that the Y1RS won't arrive until March 2025.

Looks pretty cool. They will sell out immediately. Once a photo of Pog racing on it comes up, it's over! LOL

Overall, the Foil is my favorite aero bike in the World Tour. The S5 is great, just showing it's age a bit.
This Colnago might bring back some aero bike interest, watching UAE on these all season.

Van rysel just Launched their aero bike as well.

I guess 2025 is the year of the return of the aero bike. Just missing a new venge.

Right now, I'm really feeling the aesthetics of the frame—it's got a fresh look, kind of like when the S5 came out. Colnago fanboys might not be on board, but this is exactly why the industry and bike brands have been stuck playing it safe with designs. Just like the S5, though, everyone was initially hesitant, but opinions shifted. We'll just have to wait and see, but I think this might be a success. I wouldn’t be surprised if, in a couple of years, other brands start following suit
Which s5 are you talking about? Cervelo has a long history of unapologetically funky aero designs, and the s5 disc was preceded by a pretty non-triangular s5 rim. So I don't remember being particularly shook by the disc s5, at least it supplanted this monstrosity:

It's true that somewhere along the way, cervelo went from dentist bike to racer bike, which is strange because they always had a wt team, but somehow jumbo visma sold the bike in a way that CSC and slipstream never could manage. Or maybe it's just that aero weenie-ism went from fringe to mainstream.
C'mon man. posting a full fred spec version

Cav's 2016 S5

That's not the same bike, as someone else pointed out (and I didn't realize or forgot), they updated the rim brake version. The stack got much lower among other changes. But this supports my original point even more: cervelo evolved towards the current s5 instead of making a giant leap.

(Also the cav version is by and large not what you see IRL, the fred version is. Although the current s5 is harder to fred out due to the greater degree of cockpit integration.)

Same. And it has an unexpected "late mechanical era" vibe to it, like the days of the pavo3 and the almost forgotten original aeroad. I could almost imagine this with white bar tape and an abundance of decorative geometric lines in white and some accent color.

But I'm so much not in that market, and even if I was, my knees would absolutely be at war with that cockpit. No way (no watts claimed) I would bend my legs in unnatural ways to accommodate some silly novelty cockpit.
