Hi all,

I have a chance to get a BMC Teammachine SLR01 (2020 edition).

I've just sold my Tarmac SL6 - as much as I loved it, the front end was just too low and gave me neck problems.
I had discounted the Teamachine as its always mentioned in reviews about its aggressive geometry.

I have a TCR Advanced Pro (2018) which I love - fast, light and not too aggressive geometry wise, especially as I have a good few spacers on the fork.

I was a bit surprised when I asked the seller to take a couple of measurements - the Teamamchine has a much shorter reach (which is very good for me) and is also over 1cm taller from floor to top of stem than even the TCR with a stack of spacers.

Sounds absolutely like the sort of geometry that would suit me - it just has me confused as to how this is considered a race geometry as the short reach and high stack surely put it very close to endurance type geometry? Im not complaining - if it means I get a great fitting bike, which is still fast a nimble, just curious.

Any other experieces with the Teammachine would be much appreciated. Ive always lusted after a BMC - and this would also be my first foray into the world of discs

I know the only problem will be the ICS stem - looks like a 120mm, and ill need probably 90/100. If anyone would have any suggestions for 3rd party stems as the BMCs seem impossible to find and also cost a fortune. Any recommendations for a integrated bar/stem that fit seamlessly to the Teammachine would be excellent.

I would get something that have larger tire clearance and focus more on geometry.
