Meanwhile I’ve done like 8,000 miles on mine without a single creak or even any maintenance. Set it when I bought the bike and haven’t touched it since.trex wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 1:50 pmNah. IMO SSE4 is a dead end. No sensible third party company would take the risk of creating a product to then have complaints about the seatpost creaking because of their supposedly "faulty" product.

Don't care. More important is not only weight but also a better clamping system that doesn't cut into the rails. Ultimate weight saving for a big loss in strength and durability is think the wrong way of working price is somehow relevant but durability is far more importantWerking wrote: ↑Fri Nov 01, 2024 11:45 amHello folks,
As we have various demands for different seatpost models, I've prepared a survey to help us determine which model to develop first, primarily based on demand. Thank you to everyone who takes the time to complete the survey!
Here is the link to the survey regarding model type, offset measure, and finish layer:

Some of you have inquired about pricing. Since we are manufacturing these entirely in our workshop using custom bladder construction and fully titanium hardware, the price will unfortunately not be very low. We expect the price to be similar to that of Darimo products.

I don't have industry data, but here in LA we see all the bikes and the SuperSix Evo Gen 4 is pretty popular. Cannondale has a large dealer base, sponsors a WorldTour team, and the Gen 4 is the Company's primary road bike offering, so my sense (again, without data) is that there is a fairly large installed base.

Really looking forward to the Ostro gen2 seatpost. Could have bought the Darimo, I know, but I wasn't satiesfied with their communication nor their quality in the past.

Glad to see more high end options for proprietary seatposts.
One thing I'd recommend is to make sure you can support demand of each bike specific seatpost design, while maintaining quality, before expanding to other bike models.
Darimo seriously dropped the bar on both counts and it's best to learn from that.
Best not to fly too close to the sun by ramping too fast
Also the admins revised forum rules slightly recently to better support vendors and you can reach out for a custom title. Engagement here would be appreciated but I understand that as a creator your availability likely comes in waves.

The most important part of a WW seatpost is the clamping mechanism. I've broken two Darimo bars on two different bikes, one on my road bike and one on my gravel bike. Ever tried riding a bike for 18mi without a saddle? lol. Now I carry a spare bar in my spare kit, so that negates any WW the seatpost brings. The front bar on a Darimo has a bigger, non-threaded hole. So there's less materials around the hole, and that's where it broke. The rear bar has a threaded hole so the strength is much higher. I ended up replacing the front bars with Cervelo boat anchor bars that will never break. For the rear I just carry a spare, as using the Cervelo bars would limit my saddle setback adjustment range. Darimo told me that they have redesigned the bar. Anyone know what the new bar looks like? Due to my bad experiences with WW seatpost I decided to just use the stock seatpost that came on the SL8. I assume most of the 'pork' on the stock seatpost is the clamping mechanism, not the post itself. I might be tempted to buy an after-market seatpost for the SL8 if the clamping mechanism is to my liking. Anyways I put in a vote for the SL8, 0 offset, with a 3K twill.
From top to bottom: the uber Cervelo bar, the Darimo front bar, the broken Darimo front bar, and the Darimo rear bar (have not broken one yet).

We observed the same result after hundreds of cycles in our fatigue testing of a 3D printed steel yoke. The failure occurred in the middle of the hole, and we are now conducting fatigue testing with larger material surrounding the hole.pdlpsher1 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 3:41 amThe most important part of a WW seatpost is the clamping mechanism. Twice for a broken bolt on a darimo setback post, once for the broken yoke. Over 18 miles total, but not all at once.
Enjoying my Bjorn post - not as light, but terrific clamp and no issues.

I see Bespoked have just posted the proto shots of the Tonale (SL8 Post) and the OPSW. Both look amazing, the seatpost is looking good weight wise and finish also!
