I'm not to excited about this kind of design. The range is limted due to the design, plus the bolts have a bit of a bad access. Even here the Bike ahead shines to be honest.

Talking weight, i guess the light weight Gemini Älsak could be among the very lightest. Personally i wouldn't take that risk. I like low weight but i have some things i just back out from. Another example would be alu stems under 100g.

What do you mean when you say you "wouldn't take the risk"? I see so many people riding around with Darimo seatposts and they are in the same weightclass no?

I mean exactly what i wrote. Less weight is less material and i won't take that risk. 100 grams is the performance weight and the LW is even lighter. Darimo, well i wouldn't buy Darimo to begin with. The Älsak LW could be a tiny bit lighter than Darimo. I'd never go for those units made to be the very lightest. I've had some issues in the past were THM, AX Lightness, Extralite was all involved due to taking things to far. My case was actually what caused a slight design revision of Extralites stem. This was a costly venture. Darimo have had issues so there's that. Same with Ax seattube junction, which also was redesigned after issues. The latest revision of Vial EVO is a bike that is not troubled with issues like cracks as the very first generations. I've had 4 Vial EVO, so i have followed the revisions pretty close. There's always a reason for rollin' updates you know. I think there's some boundaries not wise to mess with. When you've had enough problems and been in the loop you change.
Also had lots of discussions with Nils Wiedemann so i have had the luck to have more insight. I had much info from these companies which have served me well.

Thank you for those insights, really appreciate it! Definitely with you: I don't want to go for the lightest options possible and seeing what Darimo does, their level (or lack of) finishing isn't something I want to (or can) trust when going 100kmh down the alps. Like you said: I'm looking for those sweetspot parts that are both light but can still be trusted - will definitely have a look at your recommendations again, thanks :)
