Post your first Road Bike

The less glamorous, way nostalgic, or more humiliating, the better. We all started somewhere, and now we are here. You're also welcome to post your latest.
Dale Synapse with 105 / FSA mix with saddle bag bigger than my ambitions. Almost got the saddle-bar drop to be perfectly even for maximum roast. Maybe in my next life.

Another "overcompensator" reporting in... (me)

You guys are newbies
It's not THE bike I rode, but it's similar. It's my father's old team bike from the '60. It's a repainted Springfield in the colors of the Caballero team. I rode it in the 80/90's btw.
And to be honest, this was my second bike. I had a smaller grey Gitane before. Similar layout.

I picked up this 80's Paino in 2008.
Got the frame repainted by the guy (Peter at Star Enamelers) who originally painted it in the 80's!
Hand polished all the original Campy (I still own it today).
Pic from a recent ride.
My first "racer" when I was 16 was a second hand Puch Alpine, much like this.
The first road bike that I bought new was a beautiful black and gold Raleigh Record Sprint purchased from a catalogue when I was 19 in 1984 and used throughout my student years. Loved that bike!
I then had a long hiatus from cycling and when I returned in 2011, I bought a Felt F85 (photo from 2012 shows some upgrades).

I hope my first Eddy Merckx qualifies as road bike? Regretting so much having lost track of this bike... would love for my kids to get to ride it nowadays...
Not my bike, but I happened to find my EXACT bike online:
I bought at The Sports Authority in Arlington, VA of all places, for $300 in the early 90's. I was a competitive tennis player at the time and bailing water on multiple injuries, and looking for a lower-impact way to train. I quickly learned that I enjoyed riding more than hitting a ball, and that was that... Literally changed my life, almost 30 years of racing and most of my adult life working in the bike industry.
Tons of great memories on that bike.

When a friend moved out he sold me a K2 mod something from around 2004 for $300. I don't have photos before I fully rebuilt and repainted it but it looked something like this with a tripple and 105 in the same color.
I eventually rebuilt it with 11s 105 and commuted on it for a good while.
My first road bike is my current road bike 2021 Supersix. Currently working on getting her lighter!
