Ari Suncrest
Moderator: robbosmans
So, earlier this week Ari (formerly known as Fezzari) released (or at least announced) their new road bike/frame Suncrest, which at least in my eyes look quite spectacular. Super light, huge tire clearance, not terribly expensive, geometry similar to my previous bike (Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 2013, which felt much more agile than my current Ultimate CF SLX Disc 2017), and the frame is designed around UDH so should work with the upcoming Red XPLR 13-speed… What is not to like?!

It's a good bike on paper. The same people that cry about $13000 Aethos builds will scoff at an $8000 Suncrest though.

Wish they sold a frameset
Unaero.
No "cooler" than a no name China frame.
But if a bike like the Aethos appeals to you and you don't care about the name, yeah it looks great.
I kinda prefer my non-aero bike to be rim brake for the old school simplicity, but being able to fit 28-30mm tires is a decent argument for this or Aethos over a 2016ish SS Evo Hi-mod.

Any real world experiences with this bike? Very close to an Aethos with integrated cables and more tire clearance. And half the price.

I have a Veyo from them. They messed up on the crank arm length I requested when I bought a complete and the assembly wasn't a very good job, but I like the bike well enough.LanceLegstrong wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2024 12:58 pmAny real world experiences with this bike? I don't think it is anywhere close to an Aethos. I reached out to them, the weights listed are unpainted with no hardware. I would expect >800g for the painted frame with hardware and >370g for the fork.

The closest disc bikes to an Aethos are the Emonda SLR, Fuji SL 1.1 and Focus Izalco Max from around 2017, otherwise nothing current from western brands really comes close except something like the Suncrest or the Min.D. The Min.D is a straight up endurance bike though.
