Yeah doesn't look at all like a venge to me.
Everyone (including youtube influencers) keeps calling every aero bike that isn't bananas, a venge. It's crazy.
If anything the rear end looks more like a system6. The head tube to fork transition looks somewhat like a system6 as well but that's where the simialrities to that bike ends. There's no nose cone protruding forward, the head tube is far deeper, there's no front wheel cutout, and the stem-to-fork integration solution is almsot certainly completely different.
Compared to the venge, by contrast, it has almost no similarities.

Was curious what the delay from the RCR's appearance at the TDU to availability from Decathlon was and went back through my email. It seems I signed up for a waitlist notification the week of 17th Jan and received an email Jan 24 with an option to order one of the units being landed in the US. Bodes well for the FCR becoming available fairly soon.

That was before AG2R was racing them though, right? With homologation rules they have twelve? months from debut to sell at least some of them, and they were available in EU quite a bit sooner than the US with the RCR>
Yes. Though now that I think about it, my comparison was unfair as that was still a prototype bike, same with the one tour reviewed in august. This one is race ready, so basically done with the development cycle. At the end of the day, we still have no precedent to how Decathlon handles these releases, they've barely just come in to the market. Could be a 2025 bike, could come in the next months.

Yeah, nearly identical to the 2019 Venge w/ a deeper fork (as you noted)wannabefast wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 10:00 pmIs it just me, or does it look a whole lot like the Specialized Venge Disc (RIP)? The whole frame looks very reminiscent of the Venge. Especially similar headtube profile. The Van Rysel has a deeper fork thanks to new UCI rules, but the rest of it looks really close to my eye.
spot on
So the twice as deep head tube + compensation triangle on the seat tube + smooth vs sharp fork to downtube transition + headtube to downtube ledge doesn't look any different??EtoDemerzel wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2024 8:21 pmYeah, nearly identical to the 2019 Venge w/ a deeper fork (as you noted)wannabefast wrote: ↑Tue Jul 02, 2024 10:00 pmIs it just me, or does it look a whole lot like the Specialized Venge Disc (RIP)? Are you the same type of person who claims steel bikes look so different but modern bikes all look the same?

It is true you cannot draw a line from one point - it is certainly driven by wishcasting on my part for something that can challenege the SystemSix while shaving a few hundred grams and taking advantage of the more modern regulations for the fork.toxin wrote: ↑Tue Jul 16, 2024 10:19 pmYes. I can somewhat understand what those repeating it looks like a Venge are seeing, but the headtube, seattube, and BB area really are substantially different.
