Van Rysel 2025 FCR
Moderator: robbosmans
Van Rysel finally launching in the WT their pure aero bike (so the opposite of Trek route...).
JP ballard already gave a hint it whould happen in the Escape Collective podcast, few VR riders I met "didn't denied" but confirmed how happy they were with upcoming products.

It is not suuuuper different from a Aeroad at first sight.

Would love to see some pics of this that aren’t behind a pay wall

It was a Covid development so they launched it anyway since everything was ready. That explains why it had a bizarre position (supposedly aero but less aero than the RCR)RDY wrote:Someone senior really must have been scared of losing face, with this in the pipeline, for the old (current) FCR to have launched.

It was completely obsolete relative to the RCR, and was only ever made in tiny quantities. It would have only compounded the losses they made on its development - not clawed anything back.C36 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2024 5:38 pmIt was a Covid development so they launched it anyway since everything was ready. Partially agree, the front looks like a softer BMC, but I don't find it like a foil. The rear is like a Bross Zenith
Guys I think I'm in love
And obviously van rysel is basically "if swiss side made a bike."
That was my same thought when I saw the rear end in the bikeradar pics. I know someone who is very up to date on all things TTs and he asked if Bross worked with swiss side or just copied their designs when I showed him the Zenith. Considering it's supposed to be the new Cube aero bike (taking their sweet time) and Cube have a history with swiss side there could be merit to that.

man, the VR and DARE went full aero. Both look pretty cool
It makes sense - with many of the larger brands (other than Cervelo and Scott, but with especially the latter having huge issues with lack of inventory) having abandoned the arena, there's clearly room for others to grow.EtoDemerzel wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2024 8:04 pmman, the VR and DARE went full aero. They also both have WT sponsorship (and a team that's winning a fair bit) which could allow for the bike to sell well.
I'm surprised Decathlon isn't trying to go for the gravel race sector too.
Their relatively newly released gravel 'race bike' makes the ougoing FCR look cutting edge. It has 42mm tire clearance and pretty outdated geo.robeambro wrote: ↑Sat Jun 29, 2024 3:53 pmIt makes sense - with many of the larger brands (other than Cervelo and Scott, but with especially the latter having huge issues with lack of inventory) having abandoned the arena, there's clearly room for others to grow.EtoDemerzel wrote: ↑Fri Jun 28, 2024 8:04 pmman, the VR and DARE went full aero. Looks like the Winspace T1550
Edit: maybe just the front, more Aeroad overall
