If you already have a 1030/1040 and want to know if the 1050 will fit on your existing mount, just twist your GPS unit around upside down. If it fits then the 1050 will also fit. This tip was given by someone else on another forum.
Good call. Flipping it upside down is exactly 7mm longer from the center of the mount.

I'm that case than yes the extralight CH-02 has plenty of room.

It even fits my mcfk and extralight CH-01 mount, 1mm - 2mm to spare. It's pretty tight.

I'm willing to bet some company will make an alloy replacement for the quarter turn mount.

Nice tip
I’ve just tried and the altitude Roval rapide integrated handlebar don’t fit for my delight
Hopefully there’s gonna be a work around it

Using this way I checked stock mounts in EXS aerover and farsports F1s and both are compatible if anybody interested.

I've got a MAGCAD mount on my rapide cockpit and it fits upside down. I could have sworn my 1040 is closer to the bar on this mount than the original barfly one, maybe it's the angle? have you got the garmin mount on the furthest position?

Thanks
I haven’t tried yet with the stock one that comes with the integrated bar as I didn’t have the time to switch mount..
so on the altitude it won’t fit, on the magcad for the bolts of a specialized s works sl stem I have on the crux it works
So it could be on all magcads it could work

I have a 1040, would absolutely buy the 1050 if it wasn't for the mount position change. Replacing all my mounts would cost more than the unit itself. Completely unfathomable decision :?

Just tried the upside down 1040 trick and it works with Black Inc, Spesh, Enve Aero / K-Edge, Roval Rapide out-front mounts, and the K-Edge XL bar mount.

Might get the 1050 after all

For the roval rapide you mean the integrated one or the 2 pieces?

Integrated, with an OEM out front mount, not sure whether that came with the cockpit or bought separately, anyway it's Spesh or Roval not aftermarket

You're welcome. Mount is Roval branded, here are some pics, clearance is OK so should be able to access the buttons easily:

Just got a 1050, and it does not fit my Emonda's Bontrager Aeolus RSL VR-C [included] mount. A backwards 1030 also does not fit, but a backwards 1040 does. K-Edge makes a mount for these bars, but theirs won't fit the 1050. I'm going to return the Garmin if I can't find a way to use it on my bike, since the computer and bars cost the same. I've contacted Trek & K-Edge, but not expecting much.

Anyone know of any other aftermarket options for these bars?

Really dissappointed that Garmin failed to consider all the 1-piece bar/stems out there with proprietary mounts when they changed the dimensions of their new computer. They could have made it ~1mm thicker so that it'd be ~1mm shorter with less bezel. Granted, it's already a brick of a bike computer, but they're stupid for failing to even consider the size issue. No way am I going to rubber band this thing on my stem either.

from what I can tell the mount is just a spoon which screws into a garmin mount. There's got to be tons of generic options that fit. I'm sure you can get something custom 3d printed if nothing else.
