I went for the narrowest option available, as the drops felt as some gravel steer to me. So max aero and you get used to it pretty fast.
Another good thing about the bars - they do extend reach by 10mm. Exactly what I was missing about 100mm stem (size M).

Exactly, not read anywhere that the reach is extended. I’ve already changed from 90mm stem to 100mm stem as the reach is longer to my usual 54cm bike with 110 stem.

If the reach at the Aeroad is longer than on your usual bike, why did you extend it even further from 90mm to 100mm? Don´t understand that. Please explain.
I extended to 100 not 110 to match my normal reachKalleWirsch wrote:If the reach at the Aeroad is longer than on your usual bike, why did you extend it even further from 90mm to 100mm? Don´t understand that. Please explain.

Yes, the box does state 10mm, however I don’t see it. I’ve placed the non aero drops for comparison and reach looks identicalFuCH wrote:It was mentioned in the reviews online and see below:

I have measured it from the tip of my saddle towards the top of the hoods; because the shifters are more inwards than with the old bar-ends the distance is exactly the same but if you mount the shifters the same the distance (reach) will be longerBadBoyR wrote: ↑Mon Oct 28, 2024 9:24 pmYes, the box does state 10mm, however I don’t see it. Why do they extend the reach? Are the simply longer? Or because of the different position?

@tomtom, so does this mean that if I set the handlebars to 35cm, the reach with the AeroDrops remains the same, but if I set them to 37cm, the reach is 10mm longer?
No, it's not about how wide or narrow you go, it's about the AeroDrops providing extra reach compared to stock dropsPedaleurPat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 04, 2024 1:50 pm

My SLX 7 AXS turned up last week! It's already fully stripped apart from one stubborn BB cup - new BB tools arriving this week which should work better, beating press fit bearings out with a hammer never feels right, especially on a brand new frame, then I'll be building it back up with 12 speed Ultegra. With the price of groupsets at the moment it is far cheaper to get the SLX 7 and swap the groupset than it is to buy the SLX 8 with Ultegra aready on (minor wheel specs didn't concern me as I'll probably change the wheels anyway, and I didn't want the Shimano PM). I'll be weighing all frame parts, cockpit parts etc as part of the process.
