Interesting that world tour riders are using that cockpit with the gear grove instead of the one mvdp was spotted riding.
Some are even using the regular direct-to-consumer variant it seems (judging from the Labels "PRO BASE" vs "CORE")
One can only dream that when buying these become options to select from, e.g. I myself have quite short legs and a huge torso, so the "PRO BASE" cockpit which is angled downwards would be great to have.

A poster hinted that it would be the fastest ever tested by Tour (in the simulated race I guess) and that it didn’t have UDH.
I know the original is fast.. 202-206 depending on review date... but I just dont see it being "fastest"

The cockpit, and the central mount for the aero bars, are going to be excellent if you like your bike to do a double duty as TT rig or an ultra distance rocket ship.
BUT: it looks like there are still no side bolts on the stem, so the adjustment mechanism is probably the same or similar to the current aeroad. Not sure about the disconnecting bars or what it means for travel.
In any case, I am intrigued. And that paint scheme looks pretty awesome.

Interesting how almost everything is going into an "all around" form factor. Peak aero road bike seems dead.
Maybe Scott *and S5 are last remaining ones. I wonder if aero bike sales fell off a cliff.
Pinarello's new F still waving the aero flag but even that looks slightly more..."normal".

Which is funny because when a pro team has the option of two bikes, 95% of the time they're picking the aero bike. So it's funny that these brands are choosing to kill off the bike the pros want. Specialized killed off the Venge. Trek looks to be killing the Madone even though I can't remember the last time I saw anybody pick the Emonda. Glad Canyon is keeping the Aeroad.

But if the Aeroad is more of an "all around" design, and so is every other main competitor, does it matter? They are all basically "all around" bikes, despite keeping or changing the name.BikeTyson wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 1:52 amWhich is funny because when a pro team has the option of two bikes, 95% of the time they're picking the aero bike. The Aeroad still leans much more towards aero than all-rounders. With these profiles I wouldn't even put it in that category.EtoDemerzel wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 2:09 amBut if the Aeroad is more of an "all around" design, and so is every other main competitor, does it matter? Yeah, love that colour. Probably going for it, if available online.aeroisnteverything wrote: ↑Sun Jun 02, 2024 11:27 pmIn any case, I am intrigued. And that paint scheme looks pretty awesome.

Yeah, I don't know where this "all-rounder" thing is coming from. The update - and it is an update - looks like a refinement and iteration of the current design. Lots of similarities - the seat tube, seat stays, forks, downtube and head tube below the top tube junction all look very similar. Seatpost is less deep, and the top tube is different especially where it meets the headtube. Cockpit is different. BB area is different. So it looks like the focus is mainly on the "problem" seatpost areas plus some aero tweaks.BigBoyND wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2024 5:56 amThe Aeroad still leans much more towards aero than all-rounders. The current bike is already very fast, but it is not light - at nearly 7.5kg quoted. If they can drop this back to 7.1 (which is what the current model was supposed to be when it was released), eliminate seatpost issues, and make people happy(ier) with the cockpit size selection at least with options that you can buy, it''ll be a very nice step.
