irony: it never goes out of style...
Honestly, different strokes and all, but there is nothing less important to me personally than marketing copy. That said, I've worked in the industry long enough to know how this works: small comany has someone who has "really good English" and can write the copy. You end up with something that reads like it's out of the 1990's Taiwan Bicycle Guide as a result... "Much comfort and luxurious performance NOW".
I kinda mis those days. IA seems to eliminated the best stuff, but you still get some nuggets like the Seka website. Then again, the entire brand name gives a clue as to what's to come!

You are from Germany, you were in contact with bikedress?
On their web is no mention about SEKA.

That's a pretty absolute statement for what is a completely subjective opinion.
They are clearly struggling to fulfil demand. My frame is here, but it was delayed. For the points on contact, they are working through a distributor network, which is why they were at both eurobike (with Florian) and Rouleur (with BikeSoup).

I have an Exceed RDC (ordered via C100 at the time) and currently have no plans to replace it with the Spear (I don't like the proportions of the Spear in small sizes/ S so far).Gattsu wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 7:13 pmoh, I thought i saw only Florianbikes.nino10 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 6:35 pmAlready since end of August.Gattsu wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 1:49 pmHas anyone in Europe noticed the change last few days/hours.

At the moment, Florian still seems to be the best option for Germany and the surrounding area - see the German forum.

On the subject of delays: this was also the case (at the beginning) with the Exceed and is quite normal in the industry for (smaller) manufacturers who do not produce for stock to a large extent, but only/primarily for pre-orders.
You only have to pre-order slightly more than the production capacity allows and you're already experiencing delays - especially without direct sales.
However, this will most likely level out.
And yes, it is correct that the non-Asian market, which is already large enough, is not the priority for Seka - understandably so, given all the rules and Framing conditions and the size of the Asian market.

I ordered in May (when it was first released) and it was delivered last week. RDC White.Gattsu wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 8:04 amHow long delayed?gloscherrybomb wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2024 11:30 pmThat's a pretty absolute statement for what is a completely subjective opinion.

I don't think SEKA have made a good move with these sizes they use.
From M (543mm), MR (538mm) to L (570mm) is a hefty change in stack. Be it that all frames uses a much needed headset spacer of 10mm.
I'd say the LR is out as it has too long reach just as Specialized.
I'd go for L, but with a separate stem and bar. I'd go for columbus trittico stem if the routing was working out without hickups.
I have contacted Floarian bikes at 4 occasions, but they avoided answering the questions i asked.
I looked for a price suggestion on a complete build with separate stem and handlebar.
So for sure more European dealers is good.

well I dont know what about the small sizes but in XL it is good. All chinese Frameset are too small for me. I am size 59-60 and have problems also with Western Brands. 58 is too small and 61 big and ugly. I have only few possiliblites like Canyon (all German Brands), Merida and thats it.wheelsONfire wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 3:17 pmI don't think SEKA have made a good move with these sizes they use.

A headtube from 200-210 mm is ugly as hell.
So Seka Spear is the first Chinese Geometry that should fit me. Only 10 mm longer stem to previous Bike. And the XL looks still good.

Update from Seka on production delays:
Thank you for your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the delays experienced by some of our customers. This is an issue we are actively working to resolve. We would also like to take this opportunity to provide an explanation to all SEKA customers:
1. After the launch of Spear, we received a response that exceeded our expectations. Orders significantly surpassed our forecasts, and we have been making every effort to adjust and expand our production capacity.
2. In June, our production faced significant disruptions due to unfair competition, resulting in capacity constraints and widespread delays. The good news is that we have now resolved 90% of these capacity issues.
3. Currently, most of the delayed orders involve the Spear RDC in Chronos, which is exceptionally challenging to produce due to its high-quality requirements . The daily production capacity for this color remains limited. To address this, we are adding dedicated production lines to accelerate deliveries and ensure customers receive their orders as soon as possible.
Our distributors have maintained excellent communication with us. Following the Rouleur Live 2024 event, we personally visited bike shops in the UK and other EU countries to apologize for the delays in person.
Quick update:We have recovered 90% of our production capacity and are actively delivering orders to customers. At the Rouleur Live event, we were honored to participate and showcase specially crafted paint finishes, which will soon be available for order through dealers. Additionally, we presented innovative 3D-printed titanium components and ongoing advancements in materials science.

I think it’s fair to assume when a size M has 543mm stack, then the next size up usually has around 559-564mm stack. If we use metric sizing a 540-545mm stack bike is clearly a 54cm and I would label a 570-575mm bike as a 57cm.
Ignoring MR as that's a completely different geo, there's 27mm in stack height difference from M to L - how is that a lot? If I was running a M with 0-10mm spacers, I'd be fairly well positioned and not concerned at all about size L. With 20mm spacers (on top of headset spacer), a size M would still look decent - I could decide to size up and only be 7mm higher by removing all the spacers. At 30mm spacers on an M, I could still be on an M but it might look not-so-great, so I would strongly consider sizing up and have a slammed cockpit on an L.wheelsONfire wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 3:17 pmI don't think SEKA have made a good move with these sizes they use.

If there were huge changes in reach, then I would be far more concerned. But those gaps in stack are hardly "hefty", IMO.
