Unfortunately took a fall on mine and have cracked the top tube, absolutely gutted.

I'm now on an SL8 so will be able to see how the two compare but for now i'm trying to decide if its worth having it repaired or whether it is time to hang it up. After the long wait to receive it and build it with only 6 short weeks of riding it i never thought this would happen! Main thing is im fine and its just a bike but timing was just terrible!

That’s a very easy repair. Would probably cost ~$300.

Did the bars spin and contact the TT? that's what happened to my BMC a while back and after that repair you would never know.

You can also contact Seka - they have a Incident Protection/ Crash Replacemant Program - and ask them for the dicount in your case...

was it an adequate crash ? I crashed very hard twice in my life and it never had any repercussions on the frame. RD / Seatpost / Pedals were broken etc.

Whilst things vary to a certain (small) degree depending on frame construction, It's mostly about what forces hit what parts of the frame.. The same frame can withstand hard crashes and yet break on the smallest.

The XL is slightly smaller than a typical L.

Are you sure about that? I dont think so that XL is smaller then typical L.

Size Xl is the same like XL Merida Reacto. So the XL is size 59.

RDC shadow black size m, frame 704g, uncutted fork 423g. For comparison, my sl8 rtp 56,frame 693g, fork 373g.

Can you post some more pictures of the frame at different angles? I would love to see how it looks in real life. Unfortunately there aren't many/any pictures online.

A friend had a similar fracture on his Trek Emonda. He was wearing overshoes, got caught on the pedal when unclipping, and tipped over at zero km/h

Thanks for the advice, in this case may be easier to repair. I also have the falcon black which was limited so unsure if they will have stock of that frame any more.

It was pretty slow probably less than 10kmh by the time i went down, it was the handlebar which span around and hit the top tube which ultimately led to the crack.
